President Trump added fuel to the conspiracy theories surrounding multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein's apparent suicide on Saturday when he retweeted a post that implied former President Bill Clinton was linked to Epstein's death.

The tweet came from self-described comedian Terrence K. Williams who echoed many on social media in suggesting a connection between the Clintons and Epstein, who previously was an acquaintance of the former president.

"Died of SUICIDE on 24/7 SUICIDE WATCH ? Yeah right! How does that happen," the tweet read, alongside a photo of Epstein and one of the Clintons. "#JefferyEpstein had information on Bill Clinton & now he’s dead I see #TrumpBodyCount trending but we know who did this! RT if you’re not Surprised."

It's real news.

Is the President immune to libel? Doesn’t this cross some line? McConnell realizes Pence is a conservative and he’d be President, right?!

Beat me to it. His flatulence, FFvC, actually is fueling such bullshit. Surely his supporters will see him for what he is? Right?

:pigsfly: :pigsfly: :sick-green:

Naaanh. Pigs ain’t flyin' yet. They’re just lapping it up.

Trump used conspiracies and lies to gain popularity. They are his defense, his offense, and his regular state of being. He's got political free speech and even if he didn't, he can outspend anyone on lawyers.

So, if that tweet is in a context chain that shows it to be sarcastic then that (or even more intense tweets) are not libel.

But the retweet, especially with added editorialismb could be libel or otherwise against the TOS?

If Trump said "I am directly and without reservation saying that the Clintons killed Epstein" that would warrant Twitter to yank even that tweet.

Anyway, Coulter's response to Scarborough was very based.

Libel is a civil matter. Hardly "high crimes and misdemeanors". And besides, we have Dem presidential candidates libeling Darren Wilson with impunity.

Trump might want to be very very careful what he is tweeting. I hear there is a senior member of the current US administration who wants to open up libel laws and crucify someone who does such a thing

It is misconduct while in high office which is as well defined as "high crimes and misdemeanors" gets. And besides, taken in totality with other indicators of his lack of fitness for office, it surely should be considered as reason for removal.

"Nyah nyah nyah, you can't catch me!"
-Donald Trump

Anyone who has been paying the least bit of attention should know that however dear Jeffrey died, Trump was complicit in his death.
When has he EVER accused Clintons of something he himself didn't do?

Apply what you know about the official Trump Defense Plan, aka "I know you are but what am I". That he claimed his enemy killed him makes it likely that Trump killed him.

Yeah, sure, anyone promoting a wacky Epstein conspiracy theory is almost certainly the ringleader of a secret plot to have Epstein killed.

I dont view his comments as being anything other than rational. There are literally only 2 things that could have occurred. He either committed suicide or someone killed him. And if he did commit suicide then:

1. The federal prison is highly incompetent. Sadly, thats not so hard to believe.

2. One must further ask how this could be physically accomplished considering the design of the cell.

Trump had means: he controls the DOJ through Barr and has sycophants at all levels of the justice system.

Trump had motive: their relationship and Trump's knowledge of his pedophilia and the historic allegations.

Trump had opportunity: see the applicability of his means.

Trump has a history of applying his means to his motives at every opportunity: see his tweets about 2a folks in multiple stochastic calls for attacks, threats against witnesses, and offers of clemency to terrorists in multiple situations over the last few years, with repeated credible attempts in non-stochastic demand scenarios as well revealed through the Mueller report testimonies.

There is nothing wacky about it. Trump had every reason to want Epstien dead and all the tools it would take to make it happen. He has also repeatedly used the Clintons as a scapegoat for his own crimes (collusion, destruction of evidence, "pizzagate", etc.)

There's a pretty clear pattern at this point: Trump breaks the law some way, people get suspicious, he accuses his enemies before he is outed.

Trump keeps crying about a wolf when the sheep go missing, but he's the one who always happens to have mutton in his fridge.

No, not anyone... specifically the Trump legal defense team. It is a recurring pattern with them to leverage the very basic human failing of believing the first person you hear something new from. Who tattled? They are the victim and who they tattled on is the perpetrator of evil... first to report wins. So, what we have been seeing over and over again is that team coming out with accusations of the other side doing what was about to be discovered that they have been doing, so as to "get in front" of it.
