I talked to him not too long after that happened. He called into the radio station when I was producing the morning show. He hadn't had a record out for awhile (they usually only call when they have one to promote), but we were still playing all his previous stuff quite a bit. He just called to thank us for still playing his records even though he was in between deals. It was a nice gesture.

Another thing he did for us went above and beyond. We did parody songs on the show, because we had a guy who could sing just about anything. Usually we had to hunt down a karaoke version or find someone who could play to make something we could use. We were working on one, but we couldn't find a good version our guy could sing over. Well someone in Toby's camp heard about it, and a few days later we got a DAT tape in the mail with a no-vocals mix of the actual song.
