Truck of peace hits New Orleans

You and the Islamists desire the same thing, just in different flavors.

That makes no sense. Either I desire the same thing as islamists or I don't. Obviously I don't desire the same things as islamists so I have no idea what you are talking about.
You want to dictate how the world is with little regard for the facts. They want to dictate how the world is with little regard for the facts. All that differs is exactly what you want to dictate.

The problem (as I am sure you are aware) with this (assuming ad argumentum that it is true) is that it implies denying escape from radical Islam to the 1% (~420,000) of Afghans who are opposed to redical Islam, and currently stuck in a country where radical Islam is massively dominant.

US and EU immigration law currently (or at least until Trump started unilaterally dictating US law) treats applicants for migration as individuals. The details of what constitutes grounds to accept or deny such an application may be sensible or daft; But regardless, they are applied on a case by case basis. Nobody is denied entry solely because they are Afghan; And (contra @Derec) that should remain true even if policy becomes to deny entry to radical Muslims, because 99% is less than 100%.
Unfortunately, our system is not good at identifying the safe ones.

And note that for some of the other countries the "religious persecution" is actually the government being after them for being jihadists.

What we know about Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the suspect in the New Orleans attack

ABC News said:
The suspect in a deadly attack on New Year's revelers in New Orleans has been identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S.-born citizen from Texas, according to the FBI.
At least 15 people were killed and dozens injured after a man drove a Ford pickup truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street at a high rate of speed early Wednesday, multiple law enforcement sources and Louisiana Rep. Troy Carter told ABC News.
Authorities are working to determine whether the deceased suspect had any affiliation with terrorist organizations after an ISIS flag was found tied to the truck's trailer hitch, the FBI said.
I suspect Mr Jabbar was suffering from mental health problems which drove him to commit these crimes. And since you have chosen not to voice your opinion on why Mr Jabbar did what he did, or conducted any research into those reasons, I suspect your post here is driven by an agenda of trying to denigrate an entire religion with 1.9 billion adherents worldwide, an overwhelmingly vast majority of whom do not commit such acts.
Disagree.

Problems, yes, but I doubt they drove him to commit those acts. Rather, problems + ISIS radicalizers caused him to blame innocents for his problems. There will always be people with problems, the issue is far more a matter of the radicalizers using that to manipulate people. On both sides--see MAGA.

If your government is being overturned in a coup, and the issue you find most pressing to address is your desire to make women take off more of their clothes for mug shots, you are part of the problem.
True, but mug shots are meant to reveal features, not hide them.

Normal people don't commit mass murder. And the views of a small minority of radicalized, disenfranchised militants with mental health problems and a lifetime of indoctrination into an extremist philosophy is no more representative of Islam and 2 billion followers than one slightly insane person of Finnish descent living in Michigan (me) is to Finnish people as a whole.

Truck Of Peace Hits Palm Beach County

The protest on Saturday was interrupted when Andrew Dutil drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk full of protesters at a slow speed, forcing people to scramble out of the way to avoid being hit, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Dutil was arrested and faces an assault charge, according to court records.
