I am unburdened by what has been.
Drunk on power. What a smug little shit she is.

Sorry, but your description of the wrong doesn't match up with what you are saying happened. As I understand it, Justin seized "Go Fund Me" accounts that were sent to truckers by people who believed in their political cause. The taking of funds of a private transaction represented by 2 private parties. Perhaps a case could even be made against the conduct of the truckers that they might not be considered a political protest event, But what about the people who sent the money to them? What did they do wrong except for giving to charity to help people survive? It was despot thug tyranny in the first degree.
Canada is lucky to be rid of him.
I wonder if the GoFundMe money was enough to cover the costs the truckers imposed on the Canadian people. Or even the costs to tow the trucks that were blocking traffic.Sorry, but your description of the wrong doesn't match up with what you are saying happened. As I understand it, Justin seized "Go Fund Me" accounts that were sent to truckers by people who believed in their political cause. They were blocking support of illegal behavior, not seizing assets without a finding of guilt. The Go Fund Me is inherently support for illegal activities.
You realize that this only happens when someone has a large amount of cash inconsistent with their income? It's usually people who were working under the table. Its the same tactics the IRS uses on US citizens. The authorities can come in at anytime and empty your bank savings even before due process or coming to any judge. Whether those affected people got refunded later is not known to me. But that is irrelevant to the terror of the tyranny that was taking place, nor would those people have any idea their money might be returned later at the moment it took place.
I do if it's without due process. This is exactly how our founding fathers felt about this too.Tom
ETA ~ I wonder if people like RVonse also object when the government seizes money carried by drug dealers, since it's all private funds.~

I'm not sure what due process looks like in Canada concerning the funding of criminal behavior. I'm sure that the American founding fathers feelings are not top of their priorities.I do if it's without due process. This is exactly how our founding fathers felt about this too.Tom

The founding fathers didn't even believe in them.Sadly not anymore
So we've gone from 'they stole millions from people' to 'there wasn't enough due process'. But there needs to be due process! No due process is WORSE than letting bad guys go. See historical quotes from our US founders.
This is fallout from the drug war. Your stance on due process should not waiver regardless of a drug war, tax cheat, or snoop dogg violence. Everyone must be presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law! Otherwise your government is WORSE than the criminals. This is fallout from the drug war. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau steps down after a long run in the PM spot, as the leader of Canada. Justin Trudeau exemplifies the phrase "well spoken", as it seemed his best attribute. His father, Pierre Trudeau, was a noted figurehead PM back in the 70s/80s. A royal pain in the GOP ass, back when the GOP weren't a bunch of Gumbys. Trudeau spoke very well, in a Clinton-esque sort of way. He seemingly bumbled from time to time, but he was always able to get through it.
The Liberal Party is suffering from "Been in power too long" angst. And Trudeau was the focal point for this. The Canadian public is generally liberal, and the NDP stopped fucking elections up for the Liberals, which with dealing with "Been in power too long" angst impacting the Conservatives, helped the liberal folks regain power a decade ago. The Liberals are trying not to cede power back to the conservatives. Chrystia Freeland and Mélanie Joly are likely the front runners for the PM post and will try to both 1) right the Liberal ship before elections in October to maintain control of Parliament and consequently 2) not repeat a Kim Campbell and be the second woman in Canadian (-ien) history to serve about 6 to 8 months.
I ponder a shift to Quebec to try and solidify votes and going with Joly.
I watch The National in the morning. The Liberal that has a good shot at taking the party lead said she'd reverse the capital gains tax increase. That was the point I knew the Libs were in grave trouble. Really, it has been a long while, so a swap was likely. Conservatives need to sweep Liberal seats and not just see the liberal seats head to the NDP (Vancouver, Maritimes) or BQ (Montreal). Conservatives need +43 seats for an outright majority. I have a hard time thinking they can coalition something up. Maybe they are already there. Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto are the big areas where ridings are available.Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau steps down after a long run in the PM spot, as the leader of Canada. Liberals aren't winning the next election.

But the reality is that most of them are guilty. It's not anything like you imagine. People almost never engage in entirely legal large cash transactions. Large sums are almost inevitably either for illegal transactions or involve untaxed money they don't want to leave a paper trail. I certainly would not be willing to accept any large cash payment from a safety standpoint!
