Trump Considering Pardoning Sheriff Joe

I think that's a good plan. He needs to test the waters for pardoning people who are clearly criminals but support him politically. If he can work out all various kinks and legal issues with this doofus, it'll be less of a problem when he pardons his own family or removes the incentive for campaign officials to flip on higher ups in exchange for leniency.

We have no rule of law or justice under Trump. He is a crazy narcissist who thinks he is king. The ONLY thing that matters to him is whether people are kissing his ass enough.

Well, if Clinton could pardon Mark Rich and Obama could pardon that Puerto Rican terrorist, why should Joe Arpaio be particularly controversial?

So just to be clear. Pardoning criminals is perfectly fine with you if "The other side" did it.

Good to know where you're at.

Well, presidential pardon powers are part of the constitution, and the whole point of a pardon is to pardon criminals. Duh!
US Constitution said:
1: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
Good to know where you're at.
And good to know that you have such a tenuous grasp on the whole idea of pardons.

I'm not all that familiar with the ass bag sheriff. It was my hope that perhaps some of the conviction was at the state level.

He has a speaking role in an episode of bullshit where he basically says "Fuck your rights." crappy video quality. If you can find a better one go for it but I wont be responsible for your viruses. :p

Huh. Learn something new...

Yes, very good information. Thank you Jonatha!

The next page was interesting too: http://people.howstuffworks.com/presidential-pardon5.htm

The bit about Congressional contempt charges being unpardonable may explain Trump's questions about his pardon-powers

And note that such unpardonability is specifically for the current scenario--to keep the President from interfering with an investigation of the president.
