Trump declares himself King, sort of

I'm not sure what actually happened.
NYC started charging for something. Trump did something.

Manhattan implemented "congestion pricing" to relieve traffic congestion in Manhattan. IT's been done, rather successfully, in other cities. I did not realize that a president could insert himself into local issues, but when you are king, I guess you can do anything. The amazing thing is....he is TELLING Maga what they got - a king. But so long as libs are owned, he can do whatever he wants, even if it results in the destruction of the country.

I don't know what Trump did.
NYC implemented a traffic law.
How did Trump overrule local authorities?

“Backlash” is meaningless at this point.

Tell me about it. Hair Furor could be using RFK Jrs proposal to make labor camps, but instead of throwing mentally ill in them, he could throw the Democrats there. And Republicans would be cheering "haha, look he's owning the libs."

Someone on YouTube responded to this king business with the comment, "Aren't there any Republicans with morals, a love of country, and a spine?"
What a time to be an American, with such an embarrassing mess sitting at the Resolute Desk.

I remember when the Republican Party collectively rebranded themselves as the "Party of Family Values" over the fact that Bill Clinton cheated on his wife. Years before he ever met Monica, they were freaking out over the fact that he stepped out on Hillary. Which is true. He did that. Repeatedly. As a result, he was deemed by the right wing to be utterly unqualified to run a lemonade stand let alone the US Government.

Now their "Dear Leader" cheated on his first wife with his second, his second wife with his third, his third wife with a porn star, and at the moment said third wife - the First Lady of the United States - can't even be bothered to show up in the White House.

They're completely fine with that. Also worth noting that when John Edwards was caught in an affair with his new baby momma back in 2008, the Democratic Party dropped him like a live grenade and his political career was over.

Morals? Hmm....

IT's on the White House Facebook page. Anybody "supporting" this will say he is 'just trolling libs' I happen to think this is the most honest he has been in the past 50 years at least.

That is a confusing aspect of this. NYC, along with the USDOT, have been working on the congestion pricing plan both to raise transit infrastructure revenue and to lower congestion in NYC, south of 60th Street, from the south end of Central Park south. It appeared to be working.
article said:
In the first week of February, weekday traffic inside the toll zone dropped 9 percent compared with the same time last year, with an average of 561,678 vehicles entering the area, down from 617,000, according to the M.T.A.

And foot traffic, a measure of business activity, has improved since the tolls took effect, according to city data. Through Jan. 31, 35.8 million pedestrians entered major business districts in the tolling zone, nearly 5 percent more than in the same period last year.

Trump effectively told USDOT to ax the program.

According to this article:
article said:
But Mr. Trump had said that he would end the tolls because he claimed they were drawing visitors and businesses away from Manhattan. Observers had speculated that he would try to withdraw federal approval for the plan or threaten to withhold federal funding.
So USDOT probably can't tell NYC not to do this, but NYC is currently working on some very expensive rail projects that are critical to our national economy. And in theory, Trump could ax that funding as a stick. The plan doesn't seem to be free of controversy, though a lot of it appears to be more politically self-serving.
