Trump RNC acceptance speech

well, since one of them has to win, your hoping and screaming won't amount to much

It's justified disgust with the choice we are given by a system thoroughly corrupted by money.

And probably the thing most corrupted is the media.

The "media" has been corrupted throughout our history, except for a brief period in the middle of the twentieth century.

Money will continue to corrupt politics as long as the court continues to block legislation attempts to take money out of politics, as the present court (w/Scalia) did in 2010 when they gutted McCain Feingold.

And the only way to potentially accomplish that is to elect the Democratic nominee, who will be appointing at least 2, possibly 3, USSC justices during their term.

Green party is not going to win, so no matter how good it feels to "vote one's conscience" (been there, done that), in this election it is also cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

I did not understand that during the Bush v Gore election; and got pretty pissed off at those who said similar to what I said above. And then we got Bush... and two wars... and Alito... and an economic meltdown. In hindsight, my conscience is far from clean.

Absolutely agree^^^

A lot of people told me in 2000 that if I voted for Gore the country would go down the toilet.

They were right.

I voted for Gore and that's exactly what happened.

To be fair, I think that Gore would have invaded Afghanistan also. He would not have predicted the subprime crisis. However, he would have been much greater president than Bush! Very unlikely that he would have invaded Iraq. He was much more pro-middle class. The real sad thing is that it hurt our environment. Gore was very pro-environment. Since his loss, the US has moved far in the other direction. I think that Gore would have made a great president.

Back to today: I think that Trump would be far worse and far more divisive than Bush.
