Trump video raises sexual assault charges against Bill Clinton

DONALD TRUMP released a new video on Monday that uses audio of women who have accused President Clinton of sexual assault to attack Hillary Clinton.
The new black-and-white video plays audio of two women — Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick — who have made accusations against Bill Clinton. It plays the audio against a black-and-white backdrop of the White House and an image of Bill Clinton with a cigar in his mouth.
It then pivots to audio of Hillary Clinton laughing

This is the problem with Hillary.

It is so easy to create a huge negative smoke storm around her.

Even if there is no real fire.

The Democrats will have to try to put a shine on this turd called Clinton.

I think the problem will be this
Hillary knew what her husband was doing and yet, over and over again, she helped him cover it up and destroy the women, portraying them as stalkers, blackmailers and loons. As one of Bill’s mistresses, former Miss Arkansas Sally Perdue, told the Daily Mail (U.K.), Hillary has a “vengeful, spiteful ugliness … And she’s championing women’s causes?”

Every Rape Victim Deserves To Be Heard — Except By Hillary Clinton

Meh, when push comes to shove many of even the most ardent feminists and fighters for social justice seem to put partisan politics above their stated principles.

That's very true. That'll be happening a lot this year. People voting for Clinton because they don't like Trump (the actual Trump). People voting for Trump because he is not Clinton (not the actual Clinton but the pretend right-wing fan fic version of her). Conservatives voting for Trump even though they fear he is liberal. Liberals voting for Clinton even though she is a right leaning moderate.

It'll be interesting how it plays, I'm hoping straight off a cliff so as not to relive the Clinton Administration scandals that nearly destroyed the planet.

Lazio got into trouble by being "rough" with Clinton and he wasn't exactly rough to begin with. This may not play well at all, though if Trump is actually paying people to come up with ads, competent people, they would have done the sociology homework already. His handlers need to convince conservatives to show up in the polls and for undecided voters to vote for him as well. Tough high wire act.

But the fucking years we had to endure a media circus over it has burned it into our brains. What color is the dress? Did he have sex with that woman?

Sure, for the people who paid attention and endured it.

But that is far from everybody.
It was everywhere! I remember listing to Imus and they were joking that it was so bad that MSNBC could have broken away from children being torched in China (I think Pres. Clinton was in China at the time) to "breaking news" that Lewinsky and Starr came to an agreement for testimony.

When all you have to do is convince people you are the better of two evils it isn't such a balancing act.

But it was 20 years ago.

People 30 to 40 and younger have no memory of it.

I think it has to do with playing a proactive defense. Trump knows that the Clinton campaign is going to be leveling these exact same charges against him, so by getting the issue out about her husband beforehand it undercuts her attacks.

But they are trying to sell three different narratives.

1) Ugly anti-American asshole narrative. Trump sold this in the primaries, but it will be hard to continue selling this in order to win over groups 2 and 3.
2) Establishment Republicans. Partisan motherfuckers that'll vote for just about anyone who isn't a Democrat, however, have some level of actual conservatism in them, making them need to at least be sold that the person they are voting for is actually some level of a conservative. This is Paul Ryan and the remainder of the Republican base.
3) Independents. Early polling is showing a good amount of undecided people. People that may be in camp 2 and may otherwise be in the 3rd camp and not certain whether a blow hard is the best choice for office. They need to be comforted with a much more gentle message.

It is real hard to keep all three groups happy.

I'm 30 to 40 and well aware of it. Heck, I remember the targeting of him during the first General Election.

I think this move of Trump's is going to backfire. The kneejerk Clinton-haters already know this (or hate her for other reasons). More moderate people will either go "meh" or possibly be turned off by attacking a candidate through the candidate's spouse. And more importantly, it opens the door for Clinton supporters to remind people of the allegations of sexual violence and rape against Donald Drumpf.

I suspect this as well, the only people that I think will be positive about these attacks are his unconditional supporters already in his pocket.

Yeah, I think it'll backfire, too.
Even Bill O'FuckinReilly told him it was a dumb idea.

Right. Or, the ugliness both sides are going to be flinging will balance out and it'll have no overall effect.

It's vomitus/funny that for the past 25 years, the constant GOP assault against Hillary Clinton has come to this moment; preventing her from getting elected POTUS in order to ensure that Donald Trump can represent them.
