Sounds like the least bad of all the options available to him. His previous strategy of becoming the winner by convincing people to vote for him seems to have failed completely, so it's time to switch to Plan B.

If that doesn't work, he's got Plan C lined up where he's a snitty little bitch about it and never stops whining about how everyone's a big poo-poo head except for him. Also, he'll mention how his daughter's nice, too, but he'll be really weird and creepy about how he does that.
