Trump's Appointments

Gen. Thomas Bussiere, a top Air Force General who was nominated by Trump to become the next Air Force Chief of Staff, resigned after Hegseth/Trump’s farce of a military meeting this week.

I don’t understand… he’s not fat and has no beard. What could possibly be the reason.

The Kingdom of Thailand has a long history of military coups. I DO NOT endorse all these coups, but some of them, imho, were actually good! I viewed the military as providing an extra branch of government, rarely standing up to provide "checks and balances." For example the 1991 coup d'état led by Suchinda overthrew a VERY corrupt government and installed the highly-respected centrist Anand Panyarachun as acting PM to form a civilian govenment. The junta emphasized that its action was temporary by scheduling general elections for the next year. (There was another crisis when the pro-criminal coalition won the next year's election, but that can hardly be blamed on the original coup.)

I am NOT saying military coups are generally good, nor that they should be encouraged. But a country suffering from severe kakistocracy may need to seek remedy wherever it can.

This saddens me a lot. Let me explain why.

Military officers don't follow politics even a fraction as much as message-boarders like us Infidels! For many generals, listening to the Two Idiots at the Tuesday meeting may have come as a major shock! Of course they'd heard rumors that the country had been turned over to psychopaths and idiots, but now they saw it with their own eyes.

I had hopes that these generals would confer among themselves and agree on a path of resistance. I know that would be "un-American" but the whole Trump government has become far FAR more un-American than anyone ever imagined could happen.

And here comes a four-star General who suddenly understands the scope of the idiocy and he ... RESIGNS, inviting the Idiots to appoint a Trumplicker in his stead! Ugh! Ugh!

Article said:
Bussiere was nominated for the Vice Chief role in July, but the nomination was withdrawn in September, with some speculating at the time that the withdrawal could be in anticipation of changing the nomination to Chief of Staff after Gen. David W. Allvin’s abrupt retirement announcement. Instead, President Donald Trump nominated retired Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach for the CSAF role on Sept. 29.
They're all suppose to stay and defend the Constitution against these domestic enemies. Doing so does not necessarily mean open rebellion.

This dude looks like he was just butt-hurt over getting neither position. Plus he had 39 years in. He didn't get moved up so he moved out. No big surprise there.
I read nothing nefarious in the article.

Tump has appointed Brent Bozell (subject to Senate approval) to be Ambassador to South Africa. Some of his testimony to Congress is unsettling:

President Donald Trump’s nominee to be ambassador to South Africa this week refused to say whether he would support or oppose repealing laws allowing Black Americans to vote.

During a Thursday Senate confirmation hearing, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) asked Trump nominee Brent Bozell, a right-wing media critic and founder of the conservative Media Research Center, about his support for Trump administration plans that limit refugee admissions almost exclusively to white Afrikaners.

“Senator, I don’t make that policy,” Bozell replied.
... said Murphy. “So why can’t you give me your personal view on that?”
“Because, senator, I am here to serve America and to do what the president is asking me to do,” Bozell said.

Murphy then asked him if he would support bringing back “laws in this country to only allow white people to vote.”

Bozell again refused to answer.
“Senator, I’m going to serve as ambassador to South Africa, and I’m going to focus on that,” he said.

“You will not share your personal views on whether it is right or wrong to reinstitute discriminatory policies in this country to prevent Black people from voting?” Murphy pressed.
“Senator, my personal views are irrelevant,” Bozell insisted. “I am serving here to do what the president is asking me to do in South Africa.”

I read it at https://www.alternet.org/trump-black-americans/ which I read without subscription by using the Disable-Javascript trick.

Googling, e.g. "Brent Bozell Murphy", yields lots of hits, e.g. https://www.commondreams.org/news/chris-murphy-brent-bozell
Most of Altenet's articles are copied from other (non-paywalled!) sources; that may be the case here as both the Alternet and CommonDreams articles are bylined Brad Reed.

Some of the hits are to YouTubes where you might hear the ugly words come out of Bozell's mouth. I didn't indulge in this thrill personally.
