TRUMPTRUMPTRUMPTRUMP

The media wants ratings, which also means they want Trump elected.

Trump gives them far more fodder for their 24 hour "news" cycles that any of the other candidates, and he would continue to do so as president.

The irony is that the lies, fear, and hate spread by Fox News for decades has helped Trump become a viable candidate, yet Fox News is more opposed to Trump winning the nomination than CNN, MSNBC or most other cable news outlets. That's because Fox News is run by people interested in more than ratings by any means neccessary. They are right wing ideologues trying to use the station as the propaganda machine to increase Republican and conservative power. They (like most of the GOP leadership) think that Trump has the least chance to win the White House and even if he did, would do more to harm than help the long term selfish interests of the GOP and conservatives.

TRUMP. How about a picture of TRUMP? Let's talk about TRUMP. TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP...
I'm gonna throw up. The mainstream media are doing their best to get that clown elected. You can't turn on CNN or MSNBC without seeing the word TRUMP, and usually not without seeing his ugly mug as well. They turn the cameras on any stage he is expected to appear on an hour before he gets there, and leave the cameras on the empty stage for an hour after he's left. Meanwhile, if you want to catch Berie's speech ... you might find it on C-Span. Trump is like a best-selling train-wreck, and the newzers don't seem to realize the extent to which they are aiding and abetting him. Or else they either don't give a damn or actually want him elected. I think that's the answer to these folks' question:

TWO BILLION DOLLARS in free media has been invaluable to Trump, astounding.

See: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/03/1...mps-mammoth-advantage-in-free-media.html?_r=0

Trump has nearly three times the free media of Clinton, and six times the free media of Sanders and Cruz (separately). The bar chart in the article says it all...

So yes, Trump might win the general election - the bandwagon effect for 'a winner' is starting to take hold among those on the right and once he crushes opposition he is going to focus entirely on Hillary and generate the majority of news coverage...

Hail Trump, PAX Americana's new Caesar (or is that her new Il Duce?).

Yes. and it is worse than that... the average American cannot tell the difference between an advertisement and a news article... forget about 'entertainment'..
yes but that's because the average american is literally, physically, retarded.
i still don't see how that's the fault of "the media" though.

.. because, by definition, news, infomercials, commercials, and entertainment are all "media".

[h=1]We met with Donald Trump. Electing him will still be a radical risk.[/h]
AS DONALD Trump observed during a visit to The Post on Monday, we have been critical of his candidacy, so give him credit for agreeing to sit down with us and answer questions for more than an hour. Unfortunately, the visit provided no reassurance regarding Mr. Trump’s fitness for the presidency. “I’m not a radical person,” he told us as he was leaving. But his answers left little doubt how radical a risk the nation would be taking in entrusting the White House to him.
...
Global warming? “I am not a great believer in man-made climate change,” he said.
..
His answer to racial disparity and urban poverty is to create jobs. But how? “Economic zones,” “incentives” and improving the “spirit” of inner-city residents. “You have to start by giving them hope and giving them spirit, and that has not taken place,” Mr. Trump said.

Not many plans, not much to go on. He's an amateur with no depth.

I was really hoping to read that article and have a laugh at him... not the case. I actually agree with pretty much everything he said... fuck I hate saying that.. that fucking asshole.

again though, i don't see how there is any fault in "the media", but in fact that americans are literally, physically, retarded.

if you take a teeming horde of slobbering idiots (the american public) who will instantly fervently believe anything that reinforces whatever passing notion happened to form in the impulse-driven grunt production mass they call their brain, it seems to me to be rather simplistic to try and blame their stupidity on a handful of flashing neon signs that are just trying to get their attention.

if there was (or ever had been) any remote reason for the collective cultural consciousness to legitimately have reasonable acceptance of 24 hour news channels as being "real news" and then that "real news" betraying them with ratings-chasing, you might have a point.
but 24 hour news channels have always been at best one dick-hair's breath away from being reality TV on Bravo, and there comes a point where you simply can't blame the TV box for the fact that a country full of people with down syndrome tried to copy what they saw on an episode of beavis & butthead.

In my opinion, it was Desert Storm that launched the US into the age of media-manipulation. For the first time ever, people were able to watch a war unfold, 24 hours a day, in high quality first-person PoV. Hell, we were riding the bombs all way down the chimneys.
A few years after that, we had the OJ trial. 24 hour coverage of a murder... the murder of our justice system.
This all flowed very nicely into the age of social networks, where any voice was just as good as any other... and News just meant "New".

Could it be that Trump's pluralities in most of the primary "wins" are his high water mark?? Yes, I've seen a ton of Trump -- and it has only established and re-established and re-re-established his nauseating image in my mind. I watch the sound bites and I start yelling "Fuck!" at his florid ranting face. I really think he's unsuitable for the majority of Americans, if not outright anathema. Show us more -- he's more loathsome every single goddamn day.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, in an apparent bid to placate conservatives who fear that he could appoint an insufficiently ideological justice if elected president, plans to release a list of 5-10 names sometime in the next week. He says that, if given the opportunity to name a Supreme Court justice, he will limit his selection to the names on that list.
----

So, Jim DeMint will choose our next supreme court justices if Trumpolini wins the presidency? Trump is definitely an idiot.

Trump is Zaphod Beeblebrox.

Although Zaphod's quote that goes "If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now" is more to the point than the one about the pelvis to juxtapose with Trump's quote about the ego.

I used to believe that these were a high-water mark, but no more. In February, polls showed that most second choice GOP voters liked Rubio, followed by Cruz. Trump was the least desirable choice. However, when Rubio dropped out voters did not flow to Cruz as expected, but to Kashich. And 1/2 the Kasich voters said they would support Trump if Kasich drops out (from moderate GOP Kasich to pro-fascist Trump...don't ask me how).

National GOP polls have Trump nearing 50 percent support, way ahead of Cruz and Kasich.

My own view is that Trump is benefiting from the bandwagon effect; the more he wins, the more voters look at him as legit.

Unless Kasich is willing to form a unity ticket with Cruz (or at least drop out of States where he has no chance) it is a 90 percent likelihood that Trump will have the majority of delegates and get the nomination. After that, we shall see.

Trumpolini could be President - the rise of a demagogue has shown the fatal weaknesses of democracy, and once they take hold it is very difficult to stop them. Huey Long, for example, survived "all-in" fierce opposition (as did Hugo Chavez), the former only being stopped by a bullet and the later by cancer.

Prepare for the massively delusional "Making America Great Again" nationalists - they are marching.

I feel embarrassed for you Americans at the moment

You're having a demagogue moment. Comparisons between Hitler and Trump are valid.

Trump is manipulating the masses like puppet master in chief.

Good luck with that if he gets to be commander in chief.
I think that your post is too far! His support rarely goes over 30%. I do think that Hillary will beat him comfortably.

think it's more along the lines of they don't give a damn and just want higher ratings. Wall-to-wall Trump coverage gets more viewers and this leads to higher advertising revenues.
i know the most popular topic of conversation in my office is 'what Trump said.'
Trump's fan quotes him for how he's saying something right.
Everyone else quotes Trump to point out to Bill, "HEY, you're supporting A NEANDERTHAL!"

This may partially explain why a few "select" Japanese women are supporting Trump:
