During Bush's and Obama's time their was much talk in the press about the drone killings and scorecards were kept, comparing one to the other.

However it seems to me that this is not mentioned anymore.

Have they been stopped by Trump?

Have they been stopped by Trump?

No they have not.

The noise about drone killings in 2015 and 2016 was proliferated by anti-Obama/Hillary bots and trolls that were aiming to suppress the Democrat vote or get the more leftist potential Democrat voters to go third party (Greens or some such). They were painting Obama/Hillary as war mongers in RT (and similar) articles and then that shit was getting endless social media shares. Some useful idiots on the left fell for it.

I don't remember much popular press crying about drones in 2016 except some FOX stuff.

So, it is still going on but that news isn't on anyone's political agenda at the moment.

Why would they end?

They are controlled by the CIA.

The public has no right to know about their use.

We only know they have been used from the victims.

They are the future of terrorism.

I don't know if it can be stopped.

Last I heard, Trump was killing a lot more civilians than Obama ever did.

Pretty much:

Non-combatant deaths from Coalition air and artillery strikes rose by more than 200 per cent compared to 2016, rising to between 3,923 and 6,102 civilians estimated killed during the year according to Airwars tallies. By another measure, roughly 65% of all civilian deaths from Coalition actions tracked by our team since 2014 occurred over the last 12 months. This unprecedented death toll coincided with the start of the Trump presidency, and suggested in part that policies aimed at protecting civilians had been scaled back under the new administration.

Have they been stopped by Trump?

No. ISIL and Shabab leaders have been recently killed by drones under Trump. And more.
Google "us drone attacks under trump" for more info.

Ya, I heard they just got the number two guy in ISIS.

It's a bit Orwellian.

There must be an enemy since we are killing people.

It's all in secret though. No need for any evidence. No examination of the evidence.

We just take the word of secret people in secret that it was necessary.

No talk of collateral deaths.

A user popped up on the 2ndlight.com surfing forum in late August 2015. It was active until February 2017 and then went dark. It pretended to be a liberal voting for Stein. But all of the content that it originated painted Clinton as a war monger. Strangely it was not even a little critical of Trump or the GOP. It just attacked Clinton by amplifying articles by real reporting like Democracy Now and a LOT of fake shit from RT and such. You name the conspiracy theory and it promoted it. Thing is, the forum has no reach. But, bots don't care. They don't sleep and can crawl into any little crevice. It liked to quote Phil Rockrtroh

"It is astounding how effective the US State Department/CIA propaganda machine becomes in promulgating the official lies attendant to US imperialist militarism when a Democrat resides in the White House e.g., from the lies, big and small, regarding US/NATO aggression in the former Yugoslavia in the late 1990s during the Clinton years to the US/NATO aggression that is responsible for the slaughter of tens of thousands of Libyans, the assassination by proxy of Muammar Gaddafi, and reducing the once vital, secular nation into a sectarian strife-ridden failed state to the US/EU oligarch bankrolled, planned, fomented, and set-into-motion, neo-Nazi-led coup d'etat in Ukraine and resultant military aggression against the Russian ethnic population of eastern Ukraine, and the attendant propaganda campaign against Vladimir Putin, who has proven to be the only grown-up in the room during the contrived confrontation.

Why do these transparent, imperialist prevarications become accepted, internalized, and ingrained into the general population so readily when Democrats hold the presidency? In short, because liberals and (faux) progressives become the lies apologists and disseminators. Consequently, there stretches a moral vacuum in the political landscape where principled opposition should be located. Worse, their partisan, intellectually dishonest, and snark-sodden ranks surpass Bush era, rightist blowhards and dupes in their ability to shill for acts of US military aggression.

And the fact is: these myopic, partisan rah-rahs (e.g., the smug, belligerently ignorant denizens of Daily Kos) are hypocrites of the most lowdown and reprehensible order. Why do I commit such harsh words to pixel regarding people who claim to dwell on the leftist side of the political spectrum? In short, because this self-serving klavern of liberal class tools enable the crimes of US imperium.

Moreover, if a President McCain or Romney had destroyed Libya, appropriating a litany of lies, or initiated Cold War 2.0, thus conjuring the looming specter of a nuclear confrontation with Russia, liberals and Democratic Partisans would be foaming at the mouth with umbrage and insisting that impeachment procedures and war crimes tribunals were they last, best hope for the salvation of the nation."
-Phil Rockstroh

This was the M.O. from August 2015 until February 2017. Isn't it funny when that account started and when it ended. So concerned with imperialism and human rights an not a peep in almost 2 years. Thing is, how did people not know these were bots and propagandists? We outed the damned thing on the forum months before the election. But it persisted in posting because the Trump supporters on the forum kept interacting with it and promoting its posts.

Have they been stopped by Trump?

No. :rotfl:

You're telling me that a guy who openly called for killing the families of terrorists is going to stop drone strikes? There shouldn't even be a question about it. By the way, why do some people still think Trump has any principles whatsoever? Aside from "might makes right", of course.

This. The noise about them was political in nature. Now that the GOP is in control they don't want people beating that drum.

Yeah, we should never, ever, question the multiple wars we have going on. Ever. :rotfl:

It's totally not counter-productive, or anything, or not working. At all. Really pathetic the level of "murica is the good guys" we have going on here.

"The American military is totally pure in its intentions."

You really expect me to believe that naive, childish bullshit?

It would have been nice if they could be scaled back.
Killing by remote control has so much potential for collateral damage (such a ridiculous term).

Thank you. I will look at some of those links.

Your strawman is a little light in the head. You need to stuff more straw.

Oh, there you go. Spot on.
