"It is astounding how effective the US State Department/CIA propaganda machine becomes in promulgating the official lies attendant to US imperialist militarism when a Democrat resides in the White House e.g., from the lies, big and small, regarding US/NATO aggression in the former Yugoslavia in the late 1990s during the Clinton years to the US/NATO aggression that is responsible for the slaughter of tens of thousands of Libyans, the assassination by proxy of Muammar Gaddafi, and reducing the once vital, secular nation into a sectarian strife-ridden failed state to the US/EU oligarch bankrolled, planned, fomented, and set-into-motion, neo-Nazi-led coup d'etat in Ukraine and resultant military aggression against the Russian ethnic population of eastern Ukraine, and the attendant propaganda campaign against Vladimir Putin, who has proven to be the only grown-up in the room during the contrived confrontation.
Why do these transparent, imperialist prevarications become accepted, internalized, and ingrained into the general population so readily when Democrats hold the presidency? In short, because liberals and (faux) progressives become the lies apologists and disseminators. Consequently, there stretches a moral vacuum in the political landscape where principled opposition should be located. Worse, their partisan, intellectually dishonest, and snark-sodden ranks surpass Bush era, rightist blowhards and dupes in their ability to shill for acts of US military aggression.
And the fact is: these myopic, partisan rah-rahs (e.g., the smug, belligerently ignorant denizens of Daily Kos) are hypocrites of the most lowdown and reprehensible order. Why do I commit such harsh words to pixel regarding people who claim to dwell on the leftist side of the political spectrum? In short, because this self-serving klavern of liberal class tools enable the crimes of US imperium.
Moreover, if a President McCain or Romney had destroyed Libya, appropriating a litany of lies, or initiated Cold War 2.0, thus conjuring the looming specter of a nuclear confrontation with Russia, liberals and Democratic Partisans would be foaming at the mouth with umbrage and insisting that impeachment procedures and war crimes tribunals were they last, best hope for the salvation of the nation."
