Toronto Police said:23 gun homicides so far this year, compared to 16 fatal shootings in the first half of 2017.
It is getting really really bad.
23 gun homicides is a slow week in Chicago.
In 2017, Toronto’s census metropolitan area (CMA) recorded 92 homicides, trailed by the CMAs of Vancouver at 52, Edmonton at 49 and Montreal at 46, according to data published on Monday. But Toronto was below the national average on Statistics Canada’s violent crime index, which measures the volume and severity of crimes such as murder, robbery and sexual assault. Toronto ranked 17th of the 33 cities on the index, which was led by Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Ont., Saskatoon and Edmonton.
We expect it in the USA. Its a reason I haven't wanted to go there much. It is increasing beyond the US borders and spilling into Canada. We don't want to become like the USA.
Faisal Hussain of Toronto watches ISIS videos and goes and shoots a bunch of people in Canada.
Must be time to bash on the United States.
"No evidence" ISIS behind Toronto shooting as young victim ID'd
TORONTO -- Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said Wednesday officials have found no evidence to support the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria's (ISIS) claim of responsibility for Sunday's mass shooting in Toronto that killed two and injured 13. ISIS claimed that one of its "soldiers" carried out the attack in response to its calls to target citizens of the U.S-led coalition battling it. The claim appeared on the group's social media channels.
Saunders said in a statement that all areas of the Toronto Police Service have been involved in the investigation and they have received assistance from law enforcement partners at every level.
"At this stage, we have no evidence to support these claims," Saunders said.
Saunders said officials will continue to explore every investigative avenue, including interviews and reviewing the online activity and mental health experiences of dead gunman Faisal Hussain.
Federal Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale has also said there was no national security risk following the attack.
It can both be correct that ISIS had no direct involvement and the shooter was inspired by ISIS. ISIS is kinda weak at the moment.

Ya, if he watches ISIS videos and decides to shoot a bunch of people after being inspired by that, then it can be ISIS related without this guy ever having had contact with someone from ISIS. He was also interviewed by the police about a decade ago because he'd been talking about how he wanted to kill a bunch of people after being inspired by Nolan's Joker.
Crazy people latch onto crazy bullshit and one of ISIS's main things is to have people decide on their own to do this, so there's no overhead on their part aside from posting some videos. I think the guy from the nightclub down in Florida was the same.
After a mass shooting left three people dead, including the shooter, in Toronto on Sunday, the city’s conservative mayor backed a proposal that even the most liberal American politicians wouldn’t dare support ― a total ban on all handgun sales.
“Why does anyone in this city need to have a gun at all?” Mayor John Tory asked at a city council meeting on Monday.
Tory spoke a day after 29-year-old Faisal Hussain opened fire with a handgun on a busy avenue in the city, killing two girls and injuring 13 other people. The incident left Torontonians in fear and mourning and prompted the city council to vote on Tuesday night to ask the federal government to ban the sale of handguns within city limits.
The city’s motion, which passed 41-4, both calls on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government to outlaw the sale of handguns and urges the provincial government to ban handgun ammunition sales in Toronto. The council also voted for stronger prevention against gun sales for domestic abusers and people with mental illness, as well as a crackdown on gun trafficking.

Well, either way, the key point in my post was:
must be time to bash on the United States.
there's not need to quibble about the details of the why.
True, but nothing about this case has even been remotely tied US Gun violence.Canada didn't start an unnecessary war it then forgot about and created ISIS. That was your bullshit.
That's courage you will never see in the USA...
