Two people were found dead in a vehicle that exploded at a checkpoint on the American side of a U.S.-Canada bridge in Niagara Falls Wednesday, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.

The official was not authorized to discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

FBI and ATF are on the scene.

The Story is still unfolding

A preliminary investigation has found that the car did not contain explosives, according to three law enforcement officials with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an open investigation.

One occupant must have told the other one a joke, and they reacted with explosive laughter?

There was obviously SOMETHING explosive in the car.

This is only a guess, but has Melania passed her driving test? And, more important, what are Canada's extradition policies with civil charges?

Fuel, perhaps? Unsecured propane tank?

The way it flew through the air after hitting the curb (there's video released now) would cause substantial damage to the car. It is not at all a stretch to think that this is the type of accident that could easily cause an explosion.

I would bet the simple answer is the most likely: inattentive driving and/or lack of sleep.

There was a witness report that said the vehicle was being driven recklessly at a speed over 100 mph.

Saw a clip of security footage, showing the car flying by, easily ten feet in the air, looked to be traveling 110-140 mph.
Holy shit.

The car has been identified as a Bentley. Those cars are capable of going extremely fast. Faster than the capability of the driver.

Almost exactly 7 years ago (2 days before Thanksgiving 2016) I was involved in a 7 car accident on the freeway on my way home from work. A drunk driver figured traffic wasn't moving fast enough for him, and he decided to use the shoulder to pass someone in the commuter lane. Being intoxicated, the maneuver didn't work, and his truck hit the wall and bounced into traffic at (by some witness estimates) 90mph.

The initial impact caused a grey...sedan (it was so damaged I couldn't even tell what it was) to fly up in the air and land hard, rupturing the fuel tank. I got hit and spun off the highway backwards, and when I came to rest on the side of the road I was facing what was left of that car...and saw flames licking underneath. Some bystanders ran up to the car, pulled the driver out, and about 30 seconds later the car exploded.

Just about the time I was realizing that I didn't know if there was anyone else left in the burning car, I felt my brain say "okay...we've had enough excitement here, we're going to shut down for the night." The scene looked like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie, and my mind was like "nope, we're not going to process this right now."

Needless to say, I will not be watching footage of this accident.

I hear the guy critisized Biden.
Because Biden routinely attacks his critics, recommends putting senior military advisors to death for telling the truth…

Oh wait, that’s Pootey and his “boy”.

I was thinking that if they found a crack pipe in the driver's mouth, and determined that the passenger was a young female hooker, it's about a 99% certainty to be Hunter Biden. :D

Looks like it was a normal married couple with perhaps a car problem, or maybe the driver had a medical issue?!

Reminds me of a TLDTTotS quote:
Douglas Adams said:
Dennis Hutch had stepped up into the top seat when its founder had died of a lethal overdose of brick wall, taken while under the influence of a Ferrari and a bottle of tequila.
Except that it was a Bentley.

Right now it looks more like r/IdiotsInCars than anything more sinister.
