so this could be stunning news. It’s all Putin’s doing. He’s trying to create as much international conflict as he can to distract from Ukraine. He’s hoping that he can force the US to supply Guyana so they won’t supply Ukraine.

Reports are also indicating that Brazil’s military is mobilizing as well in response to Venezuela’s actions.

There is nothing in the article that suggest this is Putin's or Russia's doing. The only mention of Russia in the article is this.

So where do you get that "it's all Putin's doing"? I suspect it has more to do with the bus driver having screwed up Venezuelan oil sector so much that the production has plummeted in recent years. Despite huge reserves Venezuela produces less than a million bbl/d - it as over 3 Mbbd/d in BC (before Chavez). They need access to oil infrastructure that has not yet been blessed with the "Socialism for the 21st century" ...

It’s the same thing with Hamas. Putin is a backer of Maduro. This is about trying to create as much havoc for the US to deal with so that he can have a free hand in Ukraine.

Doesn't make much sense.

When you stir up a puppet to engage in a war said puppet isn't protected from retaliation. This wouldn't be Ukraine where we can only send weapons, if Guyana invited us in our Air Force could really hammer them. No ground forces would be needed, with our air power I'm sure their army could hold.

The world would get another lesson in the inferiority of Russian systems.

The world doesn't need one.

If anyone still fears Russian military might, they need only look at the proud victory march through Kiev that took place on April Fools Day 2022, after their crushing defeat of the Ukrainian defenders.

Oh, wait.

So thumbing their noses at the international community, Venezuela went ahead with the vote. Given the nature of the regime, the result is a foregone conclusion.

But will it result in an invasion? The Venezuela military far outnumbers the Guyana forces. I think we have to be far more aggressive here, and send an aircraft carrier down that way, and let them know that we won’t tolerate any war.
