Its much easier to justify their killing if you dehumanize them first. Which is why Derec habitually reports on the prior misconduct of black victims of police killings, some real, some speculation,
Posting criminal history of people like Jacob Blake is to give context to what happened.
If you just listen to the mainstream media, he was this devoted father who had his child's birthday party and selflessly broke up a fight and was then harassed and eventually shot by police for no good reason.
In reality, a woman called police on him because he stole some keys, he has open warrants (including felony sexual assault), and police were rightly trying to take him into custody when he resisted arrest and broke free from them.
It has nothing to do with dehumanization, and it has nothing to do with their race either. I'd be doing the same about some white perp shot by police if media/politicians were playing a similar game of ignoring facts and automatically blaming the police.
going as far as posting pictures of black teenagers posing with guns,
I usually post these pictures when their family members/activist/media insist that they had no gun (and claim it was a sandwich or a book instead).
Take
Latrell Allen. I posted a picture of him posing with a gun and the photo of the gun police recovered (they were identical) because the claim was that he wasn't armed when in reality he shot at police before being shot himself.
always portraying them in the worst light possible, in order to cast them in the role of depraved and dangerous animals whose euthanasia renders a benefit to society.
If they are depraved and dangerous criminals, should that not be pointed out? Should lies about "gentle giants" and "it was a book" etc. hold sway instead?
And that is not dehumanizing them. Quite the contrary. I hold black teenagers/young adults to the same standard I would hold anybody else. The Left's soft bigotry of low expectations is what's really dehumanizing!
