Interesting analysis in the NYT shows that retaliatory tariffs by China, Canada and Europe, in response to Trump's tariffs, will disproportionately hurt counties that voted for Trump

This chart shows the number of jobs by county, in impacted industries. The more saturated the color, the more jobs at risk from retaliatory tariffs. Red and green are Trump vs Harris counties.

I wonder how much of this was planned to more impact Trump voters.

Hurricane season is an annual thing, and tornados are a thing too in the US. Flooding is also occurring at major levels at least a couple of times a year in the US.

Ignoring that Trump can't actually end FEMA, what would be the solution around getting rid of FEMA? I understand that Trump is really pushing the pre-Great Depression economic Government Model (should we get rid of the FDA as well?). This seems to be like just letting bad stuff happen and people are on their own. A glorious time in America really. Lost your home? Fuck off, now you are homeless. Why? We are saving tens of billions a year. :)

These assholes are the same 15 to 20% that vote against park and zoo levies.

They won't entirely get rid of FEMA functions. Disaster recovery will become subject to Trump's vindictive and evil subjective beliefs on who deserves disaster relief. That means that Red states will get help and blue states will not.

Has the Los Angeles area gotten any federal help from the fires? All I'm aware of is Trump wasting billions of gallons of water to flood a dry lake a hundred miles from where water was needed.

Shooter was Lieutenant Michael Byrd, a black male Capitol Police officer. And I'd like to see how climbing through a broken window in barricaded doors is 'holding back the crowd'.
