They have almost (and still might, after recounts and such) elected a son of two Weather Underground terrorists, who was raised by two other Weather Underground terrorists, for SF DA.
He also worked for the Hugo Chavez regime in the 2000s.
Too close to call: Suzy Loftus leads Chesa Boudin by 240 votes in SF district attorney race

But then again, why should we expect better from the electorate in the city that has such a big problem with public defecation that they literally have an app for that.

Oh well, don't worry. I'm sure the Republicans can come up with some crime family mobster boss who can scare the populace into voting out the Sons of the Weathermen.

It's a shame that Trump told California to clean up the homeless problem and they are just ignoring him and letting the homeless do whatever they want.

Very sad what our country has become. People would rather ignore Trump's orders because they hate him so much even if it means their streets are covered in shit.

We hate him? I mean, yeah but...

He literally just threatened to kill us all. Or at least, refused to help the next time we're burning alive.

Huh? Trump threatened to kill the homeless?

No, Californians. We're to receive no more disaster assistance. You were wondering why we hate the asshole.

It's adorable how he picks and chooses which Americans he serves. Didn't know the president can do that.

I note that refusing to help a bunch of people who just became homeless is a very curious way to end homelessness in the state.

Meanwhile, all those red States (other than Alaska) would be in a world of hurt if California stopped subsidizing them ...

Other than guilt by heritage, do you have any actual reasons specific to the candidates to disparage these candidates?

Wow, I'm impressed, but what are his policies?

I don't know. Probably give death penalty to the cops who killed the hero of the revolution Mario Woods. ;)

Seriously though, apparently one of his policies is to release prisoners early, including violent criminals.

Hey, with Chavista like that in the DA office, maybe SF can reach the murder rate of Caracas one of these days...

I found his website. He is a nut. For example, he thinks black people should not be arrested more frequently than white people even if they commit more crimes per capita.

Chesa Boudin's campaign website said:
The criminal justice system is racist. That’s true across the country, and it’s true in San Francisco. Even though African Americans make up at most 5% of San Francisco’s population, they make up about 50% of the people in San Francisco’s jails.
[...]
Require a racial impact statement in every case. The racist outcomes produced by our criminal justice system will be less tolerable when decision-makers are regularly forced to confront them. Accordingly, prosecutors will be required to state on the record--in open court and before the judge--the racial bias statistics relevant to the stage of the case being addressed. For example, before asking that an African American defendant be detained prior to trial, a prosecutor must state on the record the percentage of African Americans in jail on pretrial detention and the percentage of African Americans who reside in San Francisco. Before making a sentencing recommendation, a prosecutor must state the disparity in sentences among Black and White defendants.

Basically, it's "we should not detail this here black suspect because there aren't enough white people being detained".

No more prosecuting racist gang enhancements. When a person is convicted of a felony, they may be sentenced to time in prison. Under Penal Code § 186.22, part of the California Street Terrorism Enforcement and Prevention Act (STEP Act), prosecutors can seek additional prison time beyond that received for the underlying felony when the person accused of the crime is found to be gang-involved. But here’s the thing: This mechanism, known as a “gang enhancement,” is racist, ineffective, and unnecessary.
He thinks gang enhancements are "racist". That's bullshit.

Decline to prosecute cases where an arresting officer has a history of racist behavior. We can’t possibly trust that an arrest was made for a valid reason when an officer has a history of racist words or actions. Where there is evidence of such a history--racist texts, social media posts, other racially motivated arrests, etc.--arrests by the officer of people who belong to the group(s) he or she has targeted with hatred will be declined.
And who decides what is "history of racist behavior"? Chesa Boudin? But we have already seen that he views disparate outcomes in arrests as "racist". So basically if a cop arrests more black than white people Boudin would not prosecute any black person arrested by him or her no matter how much evidence there is. It's a "get out of jail" free card for black criminals in SF.

The whole site is filled with far-left nonsense like this. He learned a lot from both his real and his adoptive parents, as well as from the crew that destroyed Venezuela.

You were in another thread saying a cop who raped 1000s of prostitutes had a harsh sentence. Now you think he should have had additional charges?

Personally, I am not giving much credence to someone's negative campaigning. An objective look at policy should be had instead before making an informed opinion.

It is true that Boudin served as a translator for the Chavez administration in his younger days. He actually wrote a book about it, which you can read if you have the interest. This and his "unique" family situation aren't secrets, he is entirely candid about his far leftist motivations as a young man, the naivete they engendered, and the forces that gradually drove him back to the US with a more sober outlook on the worth of a grand idea. I would describe it as worth the read.

According to Trump, the homelessness only started existing once he became President, so I suppose he indicted he is the cause of homelessness.

In what world would San Francisco be required to follow Trump's orders? Does he rule by decree now?

Has he declared a national emergency over the shit in the streets of San Francisco?
