I feel like banging my head against the wall! The republicans were able to obstruct Obama because they owned the house, senate and SC. We control none of those. It's incredibly unfair to expect democrats to have the same amount of obstructionism ability as the republicans.

It was a while ago, but don't you remember that Obama had House and Senate for his first two years as well.

And it is questionable that GOP has the SCOTUS. Obama won too many high profile cases for that to be the case.

I know that upsets you, Derec, and it upsets your orange hero also. Thankfully, he is actually there man to do something about all those people having all those rights.

He is not "my hero". I did not even vote for him. But I have a right to disagree with protesters even if they are peaceful (which these are not). I don't think it's a good idea to protest the outcome of a democratic election, no matter the outcome.

Ironically, the protests of the last few years might have won Trump the election by turning people off. The last two years saw often violent and usually disruptive #BLM protesters for example, who set fire to buildings, blocked roads, occupied police stations etc. In the last few weeks we had idiots protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline, including violently and with sabotage at other pipelines. Neither movement is going to endear the left to the majority of people, especially not when they desecrate a WWII memorial.

I'm actually thinking of joining the protests because this might be my last chance to do such a thing and in order to communicate to Democratic politicians that I expect them to obstruct Trump these same way Republicans obstructed Obama for eight years. Republicans paid no price for that level of obstructionism, so that's just how things work now.

Mindless obstruction should not be anybody's goal.

That's not "my side" by the way. I did not vote for Trump.
But I do partially blame the left wing protests for getting him elected. For example, without Milwaukee riots over an armed black thug getting shot by police, could Trump have been the first Republican to carry Wisconsin since 1984. Yes kids, even Dukakis managed to somehow hold on to Wisconsin.

The rest of the #BLM protests/riots surely did not help, nor did radical anti-Trump protests ("make America Mexico again" etc.) nor the recent anti-pipeline ("keep it in the ground") protests.
Take Missouri. Hillary lost 38-57, which is significantly worse than Obama's 44-54 in 2012 or narrow 49.2-49.3 loss in 2008. Two years of Ferguson probably played a role here.

Other ways of becoming an illegal immigrant include travelling to the country legally on a work visa, and staying after that work visa has expired, and entering the country legally without a work visa, and working anyway. They want security to believe they are not living in a regime of a budding dictator. There are things that seem to establish a pattern and from my perspective it is not a certainty that he will be dictator. The main reason I write that is I think he did a lot of lying and appeal to extremist thought, but he may actually not be an extremist after all. So he has worked up a lot of people with his rhetoric on both sides and besides that there are various factions associated with him that have been doing scary things like the KKK rallies, attacking Muslims, attacking protesters, and saying racist things re Hispanics and Jews.

I know there will be either no response or some kind of tu quoque response to these rational observations, but it's the truth. That's the answer.
