The DOJ has the files, not Congress. Congress passed a law to release these files. The DOJ has only released a percentage of them.

Your insistence of trying to turn the tables onto the Democrats when the GOP controlled Congress passed a law to release these files and the GOP president (who you voted for three times) has refused to release files he is repeatedly mentioned in... would be a GOP issue, not quite the Democrats. The Democrats could try to force Trump to follow the law, but as we know, he doesn't do that and SCOTUS are too busy tying themselves in knots to be powerless to intervene when it is actually necessary.

Because when it comes to pure corruption both parties are in perfect alignment on these criminal matters.

The files were under seal by the courts under Biden. Maxwell's prosecution was still ongoing.

It's an editorial from the Boston Globe urging Massie to go hellfire on the files before he leaves the house.

To Trump’s great indignation, Massie, along with Democratic Representative Ro Khanna of California, introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act last year, which required the Department of Justice “to publish (in a searchable and downloadable format) all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in DOJ’s possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein.”

By a near-unanimous vote, the bill passed and Trump signed it into law. But the DOJ has yet to fully comply, releasing only heavily redacted portions of the files on Epstein, the late convicted sex offender and former Trump pal. Attorney General Todd Blanche has falsely claimed there are no more files to be released.

On the House floor last month, Massie accused the federal government of defying Congress and withholding more than three million files. He introduced the “Epstein Files Transparency Act II” to, he said, “bring the fight to the state courts, accountability to the Department of Justice, and closure for survivors. We want perpetrators of these crimes to be investigated and prosecuted.”
