What music are you listening to right now? (Warning: Lotsa videos)

With the caveat that you should never watch their videos at work, or around the kids, or around your parents, or around anyone who is easily offended, I give you...Steel Panther.

They're hilarious, and really good players.

A newly remastered video of an old Genesis concert. They cleaned up a messy video with some high tech tools and it looks fantastic, though I don't think the sound is as good as the video, and the camera angles are rather curious at times, but Gabriel's dress has never looked more vividly red.

This is another one of those "should have been a bigger star" artists that I got to hear when I worked in country radio. I sat in the music director's office with her and the record rep, listening to this album. She was alarmingly beautiful, and looked like if Jennifer Aniston had grown up on a farm in Iowa...because she grew up on a farm in Iowa. She was also the kid sister of a guy who did our morning show for a couple years. Really powerful voice.

The album was kind of her last ditch effort at a music career. She was married to a successful video producer in Nashville, but wanted to be an artist in her own right. This was the last track on the record, and I think she was saying "if this doesn't work, I'm out" with this song. She sings "if I had to choose between this, and what's left of me...then I choose me."

An old friend pointed me to this band recently, kind of a 'post-Phish' jam band, but definitely with their own sound. This is the first set of a show (that my friend saw) in a small venue in Buffalo, nice to throw on and enjoy. They close it out with a thirty minute rendition of a song called 'Drive', worth checking out.
