Seriously - I think this game is a dumb idea. Women don't want more pay - they want equal pay and equal opportunities.

Not the equal pay myth again. Studies have been done that show women take more time off of work than men do. Women partake more in office gossip which loses productivity. They are more likely to use the bathroom more often. They are more likely to have to leave work when they have a baby. They are allowed to go home if they are crying at work. I have seen this. If a woman is crying, the boss tells them to go home. If a man is crying, the boss laughs and tells him to suck it up and get back to work. Sounds like women are treated better in the workplace.

Add up all those factors and it's no wonder it's a little lopsided. To claim that it is some "patriarchy holding them down" have no clue how things work in the real world. In the real world if you slack off at work, you pay the price. "The patriarchy" doesn't force women to waste time at work talking about celebrities sex lives.

Ms. Monopoly is a pretty disturbing game.

Well it just isn't. When adjusted for things like job worked, experience and hours worked, the gap disappears.

Women don't want more pay - they want equal pay and equal opportunities.
Some women certainly. But movement feminism wants AT LEAST equal outcomes (more women in field X - no problem; more men in field Y - misogyny and must be rectified by discriminating against men!!!), not equal opportunities and they also want to control what entertainment men consume because scantly clad women are "objectifying" and "misogynistic" (see thread about the ring girls).

This seems silly. What is Hasbro trying to do, get a specific demographic temporarily interested in their product so they buy it when they already have the original game in the first place?
That has been going on for decades now. City-based Monopolies, College-based Monopolies, even TV show-based Monopolies.

Those were more lighthearted and the game mechanics, form what I can see, stayed the same.
These new editions though are more political and they actually change the game play to reflect whatever the special features of the edition are.

I own a science and engineering company. I employ both men and women scientists and engineers. EVERYONE IS TREATED EXACTLY THE SAME. Both men and women do the SAME field work and the SAME office work. Except for one male employee does get special treatment, he needs to work from home one day a week to take care of his son and has a company truck to use. No one else gets this.

Pay scales are the SAME.

Yea, this is pretty common. Studies of shown that when you compare equal jobs (trucker vs trucker; office assistant vs office assistant; not NBA player to office assistant) and eliminate for time lost due to pregnancy that the wage gap dramatically shrinks.

I work in the public service. Everyone in my workplace knows my exact wage, because my level is public and the pay associated with that level is in the enterprise bargaining agreement which is also public. Yet I am expected to believe sexism is causing some or all of the pay gap.

I work in the public service. The public service discriminates against men, and white men in particular. Yet this finding did not stop the neverending kvetching and moaning by feminists about the gender pay gap.

When Google did a pay audit as part of it's gender pay gap performance art, it discovered that it had underpaid a certain gender ...men.

Your second sentence is a non-sequitur, and, frankly speaking, quite a bizarre thing to say. What makes you think I'm angry about a particular woman or women in general?

Feminists freely confess to anger at men--indeed they claim they have every right to be angry. But not everybody hates an entire gender, and not everybody generalises their hate from a specific instance (which may well be justified) to an entire class (which never is).

The myth is there is a pay gap myth. The reality is that women make about 90% what guys make, after you account for the birthin' of babies and what not.

2) you were just wrong about the group in the first place.

There actually is a small gender pay gap even when other factors (career choice etc) are controlled for. Its just nowhere near as big as the one these feminists push.Some of it is explained by women naturally being more agreeable on average and agreeing to lower pay rather than pushing for more. You are right that some feminists do want AT LEAST equal, and don't care if they get more than equal, which is pretty fucked up. The Ontario Pay Equity Act is a good example. It explicitly states pay must be at least as much for female job roles. Doubly sexist, also making you declare what are male and what is female job roles. Why the feminists can't simply accept rules that say gender shouldn't be a consideration and it should be equal regardless of gender, I do not know.

As for this game, its just Hasbro cashing in on wokeness. Some woke folks will buy it to feel good about themselves. It may stir the pot with some men (as it is sexist on the face of it) and cause some controversy, which is free advertising, and it lets them position themselves as woke too and look good to woke society.

Agreed. If we compare similar jobs and account for raising kids that gap drops to around 6%. Experts believe that this gap is based on women placing a greater value on non-wage benefits, differences in willingness to negotiate and/or relocate, and some gender discrimination.
