When And Why Did This Become Controversial?

Clinton said it.

And of course that is just like god saying it. To Republicans these days.

All this proves is Clinton was a pandering politician as much as most.

The real issue with Mexico is the US drug war and all the harm it is doing to Mexico. Really a form of international terrorism.

Can you type some words about what is in the video so we know what you're talking about? What is "this"?

Clinton trying to gain political points by scapegoating Mexicans.

It is very easy to scapegoat the poor and desperate.

Clinton was further to the right than Nixon on many issues.

Perhaps the OP poster could point out where Clinton said all Mexicans were murders and rapists although he thinks some of them are good.

He didn't say he thinks some are good people, he said he ASSUMES some are good people.

He did not scapegoat Mexicans. He said that Americans were rightfully concerned about illegal immigration. (This was also 1995 when we basically had zero unemployment.)

Being concerned about "illegals" is like an elephant being concerned about a flea.

Sure as is the case with all humans some will commit crimes.

But the real crime at the time was the US drug war which was causing the rise of the cartels that have seriously harmed Mexican society.

It isn't just people from Mexico, but from all of Central and South America that are immigrating to the US. Now consider there are about 1.1 billion people and close to 50 % poverty rates...if only 10% make their way to your country, you now have about 100 million poorly skilled and uneducated non-english speaking citizens. Even if it takes twenty or thirty years for this to occur, your country moves in a direction towards a point where societal resources are overtaxed. Europe, is in an even worse situation, being so close to India and Africa which both house over a billion people.

If the US had not been exploiting, overturning governments and killing Central and South Americans for over 100 years many less people would be coming here.

If the US was not conducting international terrorism in the form of it's insane war on drugs many less people would be coming here.

Perhaps you could point out where anyone ever said all Mexicans were murderers and rapists?

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

If anybody thinks this is anywhere near what Clinton said, as much as I disagree with what Clinton said, they just can't think.

Not only that, but let's remember that people from Central and South America are all just like Mexicans. Poorly skilled and uneducated. Mexico, as well as Central and South America, are all filled with people who are uneducated and unskilled. They're rapists, murderers, and while some are maybe good people, they're all stupid and can only pick crops. That's what they're all like. Every single one.

The real problem is that America has never been a country that takes in immigrants. Certainly not uneducated and unskilled ones who don't speak English. We don't have the capacity to absorb and assimilate people from other countries who come here in great numbers, move into our cities, and get jobs. We never have. It just isn't in our nature. Now if you'll pardon me I'm going to heat up some leftover kielbasa and crack open a pint of Guinness.

On the brighter sign, that qualifies them as Trump voters. You might as well be describing his current base of uneducated old white males.

The insane thing he said was that Mexico was SENDING it's undesirables.

The man is not right. In the head.

If you cannot produce the Donald in person and make him say that in front of WW, I don't think he's going to swallow it. He has already indicated that videos with his moving lips pictured and his voice saying moronic, hateful things are not evidence that he actually said such things.
