Where to for the democrats now

Is there a poll that would ask Johnson and Stein supporters what their second choice would have been? That should give a little bit more scientific answer than trying to compare their vacuous campaign promises.
I think that there is a good chance that many would have taken a third option of not voting at all if the only choice they were given was either Clinton or Trump. Some people really resent the idea of being told to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Far too many on this forum seem to have blinders, only seeing a binary comparison. For them, anyone who is not an enthusiastic Clinton supporter is necessarily a die hard Trump supporter.

I hate to point out the obvious, but the truth is that there is really is only a binary comparison! Stein and Johnson had no chance. Zero. Zippo. I'd love to have a different system. But I live in the real world. And in the real world, we signal support for our guy by attacking his opponent.

Now where have we heard that before?

....Fucking excellent...

But do you think that there is any chance that the general leftists will ever understand that most of the world consider political correctness and unthinking labels to be utter stupidity?
Probably as much as a chance that most of world understands that unthinking labels include "political correctness" and "social justice warrior".
Well, there is one that will never understand. I suppose Pie's rant made no sense to you at all.

If they were going to listen to him his point would be invalid.

Agreed. I'm generally left leaning, but I do think that political correctness in some cases goes too far.

Muh Soggy Knees is a reaction to use of accusations of misogyny to terminate an argument or disagreement. Calling a women, or a group of women out on their BS isn't misogyny. Hating all women and seeking to do them harm, because they're women is. Thinking a particular one, or particular group of them, are full of shit is not.

No we don't need to censor M rated games for sexy women, violence, or other forms of content. Tipper Gore, Anita Sarkeesian, Jonathan McIntosh and others like you; I'm specifically talking about you. Stay out of other people's hobbies unless you can prove direct causation of objective physical harm to innocent people. There are some right wing pastors who are worse; they don't want adults, especially men, playing video games at all but that doesn't excuse the would be censors.

Check your privilege is another example. Being male or being White doesn't automatically confer privilege on a person. If you're a White guy/girl but you live in poverty, I find it difficult to call you privileged. This is especially true when compared to people higher on the socioeconomic ladder than you, regardless of race or gender. Yes it's possible for people of color to be racist, same for White people. Lets have one standard, and agree to judge people on the basis of their demonstrated merit rather than inborn characteristics. This also applies to their arguments. There are people who are privileged but that's a function of wealth & connections IMO. These things have to be evaluated on a case by case basis.

I do think some are more likely to receive the benefit of the doubt than others, for inborn reasons, so it's not entirely equal but I do think making things about race/sex that aren't makes it more difficult to address things that actually are. There's a reason "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" is good reading for children, and adults.

Solange's actions against Jay-Z were domestic violence, not "standing up for her sister". Call it what it is and don't play favorites. Let's expect both men & women to keep their hands to themselves. (I'm not sure that the left are the only ones guilty of this, but that's no excuse).

Mansplaining, Manterrupting are also things that need to go. A person's gender has no bearing on whether or not they have a good point and is no less sexist & condescending than "don't worry your pretty little head about it", "it must be that time of the month", *"men are talking" , or "bleeding from her wherever". Either a person has a valid argument or they don't. Either a person is being an asshole are they're not. What's between their legs is irrelevant, same for their melanin content.

*Implied in that is that women should not.

I have faith in your reason even if you don't.
I suppose Pie's rant made no sense to you at all.
It was intelligible. Was it convincing? No. It is rather bizarre to claim the "left" simply hurls epithets and insults or that any other way of looking at the world is unacceptable - that is the MO of the right as well.

Trump ran and won on a "Hope and Change" platform that appealed to people who are feel left out or scared against an extremely unappealing candidate.

Which on top of everything else, goes to show that HRC has difficulty learning from past mistakes, which makes her even less likable as a presidential candidate.

Trump made a boatload of mistakes, and kept repeating them. That made no difference to his supporters. So obviously repeating mistakes isn't a strike against getting elected.

The people feeling scared and left out were made to feel scared and left out by the man they elected. They weren't left out by the Left.

That's why black people were invented. Assuage their inferiority complex, and you can keep the poor white voter poor and willing to vote for anyone who can name a culprit.
ETA: Better to think you're superior to someone than inferior to everyone, I guess.

Why the fuck would you do that? Don't you have anything good to say about "your guy" that could attract voters to them?

Unfortunately, this time around, that couldn't be done. The two major parties knew it as well, which is why they are so bitter about how the third party votes were for the other candidate.

But as far as you're concerned, trump supporters are ignorant and uninformed right?

Saudi Arabia financed her campaign? For someone who claims to have only liked Trump for his foreign policy, no matter how ignorant that was, you sure do like posting a lot of ridiculously false anti-Clinton propaganda.

Another reason Trump is GREAT! He can convince ignorant furriners of his lies just as easily as he convinces his ignorant 'murrikan supporters!

Well, Putin demands pay for performance.

Yea, if you believe that global warming is a Chinese conspiracy, you are ignorant and uninformed. End of story!

Yes, if you believe you can throw Hillary in prison without due process you're ignorant and uninformed. Period.
Yes, if you believe you can build a wall - especially in states where a changing river is the border - you're ignorant and uniformed. Period.

I can keep going on, if you want.

But you didn't address the fact that making mistakes and repeating them isn't an obstacle to getting elected, as Trump so aptly demonstrated. So your claim is wrong.
