In Civilization VI,
Scout >> automate explore = "run to nearest barbarian encampment and get killed"

Kerbal Space Program + MechJeb: Can't get a decent ejection burn with nuclear engines when starting from a low orbit.

(Actually, it has nothing to do with the nuclear engines per se, the problem stems from low-thrust engines of any type. If your burn covers too great an angle it's going to mess up.)

Zelda: Breath of the Wild needs a Bethesda-style "Wait" function for when it starts raining.

Microsoft Solitaire is so hard. :D

On that note, I remember when I had to give up Minesweeper after moving to a laptop. The touch-pad was so sensitive that I kept accidentally clicking on mines.

Prior to that I had some pretty quick records.

Wireless mouse is your friend.

I've used a couple trackball style mice over the years. Loved them. Now I'm inspired to go shopping.

Damn you crooked green Tetris piece.

Just beware that Logitech has some reliability problems with those. They're wonderful pointing devices but after about 2 years of heavy use (and once with far less with the one in my laptop bag) the switch under the left mouse button becomes unreliable and generates spurious doubleclicks.

They will replace this under warranty but it's still annoying. They're so far above the competition otherwise that I buy them anyway, though.

Heh. This is why I never automate scouts until late in the game. Scouts were never all that smart in previous versions of the game, but neither were Barbarians. They would never come out of their camps to attack units, no matter what. In VI, the Barbarian AI has improved, and they will actually come out of their camps and attack nearby units if they have a chance of winning the battle.

I'm too lazy to manually control them, so I just make more of them.

Wireless mouse ew.

Bethesda, when are you going to make Elder Scrolls 6?

are you bracketing your perigee with your burn (i.e. a 10 minute burn starting 5 minutes before perigee)?

But how am I supposed to use a wireless mouse on the couch !?

with an end table. I play most non-twitch games in a recliner with a wireless keyboard on my lap and the mouse on the coffee table right next to the chair. It's all about getting just the right height on the furniture for comfort. I can do non-competitive (read, single player / PvE) FPS games easily (but not perfectly proficiently) in that reclined position. My monitor is my 48 inch TV, btw.

Just started playing SimAirport. Early Access on Steam. I paid full price in this stage to support Dev.
Can't recommend it now, but it will be great, as the AI is so bugged right now my passengers keep doing silly things that make them miss their flight.
It is so annoying to watch a guy show up for his flight 3 hours before boarding and then proceed to walk back and forth between the ticketing area and the baggage claim area (where he has no business), trying out different seats and bathrooms until his plane leaves 15 minutes late after waiting for him.. and then the airline gets pissed off and cancels the route.

It's very much a game like roller coaster tycoon... no micromanagement... all macro crowd control, but with individual needs visibility..

With MechJeb that's automatic. The problem is MechJeb has some problems with long burns. It's obviously modelling things as if the whole burn occurred at the maneuver node, a good approximation when the burn is a tiny fraction of your orbit. A terrible approximation when your burn is a reasonable fraction of your orbital period. Using the Nerva engine I'm forced to thumb my nose at Oberth and eject and capture to higher orbits.
