Whiteness of groups should deprioritise them for COVID vaccine

Missed in the debate is "what happens if something goes wrong with the vaccine?"

Personally, I think they should be giving the vaccine to the politicians before the front line health care workers. We could afford to lose a few politicians but I do not want to lose any health care workers.

If we think there's a high risk of something going wrong, then politicians are first in line. If we think there's a low risk of something going wrong, then politicians are the last in line.

I wonder about the adjuvants that are in these vaccines, Aluminum and so on. Stuff to boost the immune response.

Personally, I want to take the vaccine and end all this otherwise endless stress of worry about infection.
I'm at the other end of the spectrum.

I'm a 62 y/o smoker, but enviously healthy. I can count on the fingers of one hand all the times I was too sick to go to work.

I'm also primary care giver to my mother-in-law, who's got all kinds of issues. I'm pretty sure she got C19 a couple of months ago. I know that about a month ago, she tested positive for C19. This was after a big issue at her church. But, a few days after that, both my partner(her son) and I tested negative. And then again a week after that.

I'd prefer to avoid the untested vaccine for probably a year. I'd rather save the limited supply for people at higher risk of getting infected and spreading the infection. My reasoning is both utterly selfish and public spirited. I don't want the vaccine.

But since nobody knows what the risks really are, I'm good with high profile people publicly getting the vaccine. Politicians, movie stars, sports celebrities, mega-church ministers, all of them.

Then, if there are unforeseen side effects we'll find out about those too.

Without appreciable harm done, there's always another Senator or basketball player.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/c...ng adjuvants are vaccine, air, food, and water.

Aluminum-containing adjuvants are vaccine ingredients that have been used in vaccines since the 1930s. Small amounts of aluminum are added to help the body build stronger immunity against the germ in the vaccine. Aluminum is one of the most common metals found in nature and is present in air, food, and water.

Dinna fash yersel' about aluminium.

I'll get the vaccine when it's available to me because I am certain that it will go first to those more at risk than I am and because I feel confident of it's efficacy and safety.

In the meantime, and for some weeks after full immunization, I will continue to wear my mask and socially distance.

Wait... Are antivaxx idiots whinging about ALUMINUM?

Do they really not know what all of modern society is built on, and of?

Do they really not know what the most abundant metal in the earth's crust is?

And they'll drink twelve beers in aluminum cans in a day.

Omg, I can't believe I fucking derped out on fucking BEER CANS! I was thinking "isn't there some common sundry or utensil that is made from aluminum?!?"

Yeah, you get more aluminum in you from cutting yourself crushing a beer can than from a vaccine... Probably just from drinking the beer. I know I can generally taste "can" when I drink from one.
