Over the last few days I had an opportunity to read quite a bit of Leonard Cohen, and I realized that I'm intimately familiar with my own viewpoint as a male, as well the perspectives of a whole array of other men via poetry. With that, I thought it'd be interesting to start seeking out the poetry of women throughout history, to get more familiar with that type of perspective.
Doing a quick search on Google, though, it's almost impossible to pick someone to look into, so I wonder if anyone has suggestions on which great female poets to look into.
