Usually they are full time scientists working at a university conducting research of some kind.
And usually in a modern wealthy nation.
What percentage of these people have a Jewish ancestry?
0.2% of the World Population wins 22% of Nobel Prizes
2% of the US population wins 37% of the US Nobel Prizes.
Way out of proportion even accounting for the US level of advanced education.
You're not going to get many Nobel Prizes in science from people not highly trained and working in science.
This is the pool of potential Nobel prize winners.
Not the entire world or US population.
