Trump would lie and claim it fake news.

Trump lies and claims everything is fake news. No matter what we do. So why do we let him decide what we do?

We know Trump degrades the presidency. why not make our case in the next election and let the voters decide .

Because this is not just about Trump sitting in the big chair. It's about all the other assholes that are supporting him. Holding impeachment hearings about the president not only shines a spotlight on his ass, but also draws the right out into the spotlight. So we can show voters in all the elections that they need to pick people who will hold Trump and the GOP accountable.
So even if Trump slides through the election, maybe we can get enough seats to actually hold him accountable.

we fight where we can in congress and the courts I afraid it will go in one ear and out the other. Like Muller testimony a few days ago. it didn't move the polls in favor of impeachment. Afterwards Trump was taking a victory lap. Plus also the democrats elected from Trump districts won in 2016 will not support impeachment. We could lose the majority in congress in 2020. Let the voters decide next year.

Ultimately, the question is what will the votes in NV, VA, CO, NH, MN, MI, PA, and WI. Everything else can be static, but those seem to be the up in the air states. New Hampshire was really close as was Minnesota, Nevada was close as well. Virginia wasn't close. The three states Trump won, razor close. Of course, Trump could lose all three of those states, pick up Minnesota and win, but can Trump lose Wisconsin and win Minnesota? Certainly didn't seem possible to lose Virginia by 5 pts, but win Pennsylvania.

There are no metrics to predict 2020.
