I recognize that overall the effect if any is not immediately dramatic. Also that I have since lost almost all confidence in the reported numbers except in comparison with the same sources (you can see where hot spots probably are within States). I suspect that if you really dug in there would be correlations with all kinds of things. The reporting spike right after the ruling may have been due to a panicked rush to testing as much as increased rates of infection. It was interesting to see the 6-day effect if that's what it was, but even what was shown isn't all that inconsistent with what would have been expected at that time even without the Big Celebration of the SC ruling. Taking out the big states NY, NJ, CA, reported new cases are "only" up a little in the last 2 weeks nationwide.
Trausti and Axul can party hearty for all I care, as long as the hospital systems don't get overwhelmed. Virtually everyone is due to be exposed to this virus eventually if they live long enough. (as I have been saying since late February) Better treatment options will help mitigate suffering, so I'm not in a hurry to get to the head of the line for exposure or to expose anyone I know. I am not ultra high risk, lacking known risk factor other than age but don't have a driving desire to mingle in "normal" times and can easily take the social distancing measures when I do.
I hope that Trump holds his nazi rallies outdoors - bad as they may be I truly don't desire such harm to befall people just for being fooled by a conman. The Convention? Just do it. Trump will probably roll onto the stage in big gilded plastic bubble.
Sure, go inside, cheer, get sick. Even if you can't infect Donald, maybe you can keep yourself and friends from being able to vote.
But at least we know you'll be tested and quarantied, unlike the rabble who assemble at the cheesy rallies.
