My son did not score high enough to get his International Baccalaureate Diploma. He was 1 point off in computers, 2 points off in math and 4 points off in both French and History. He only needed 3 more points from all of that, any combo, just 3 points.
His IB scores are based on 4 things for each subject. One external (the test) and 3 internal (papers).
All right, now hear this. "Mom, the reason I got a bad score in history is becuase I didn't study well enough for the test, so when I encountered a really specific question - well three questions, but they were really specific not general knowledge* - that I didn't know anything about, I just wrote a short story about cowboy wizards on the page for all three questions. There was nothing else I could do!"
Are you fucking kidding me?
* "Really specific" includes, "whT was Canada's reaction to the vietnam war," and "I don't know, something about the cold war, I think."
