What a cool find, I have been looking all over for pics of the Noell's and there apes but there is not a whole lot online

There are very few pictures of Bob Noell...Apparently, he would make the gorillas fight someone from the public for 1$ per minute (max 5 minutes) . The gorillas were tamed but not trained.

Actually it was the chimps who wrestled the public. Bob would wrestle with the gorillas&orangutans and do other little skits with them before the audience.
Then they would get someone to wrestle one of the chimps, anyone who defeated them would get a large cash prize.
Spectators had to pay an additional fee to see the fight.The chimps were muzzled and wore boxing gloves, but even so they never lost
Apparently the chimps enjoyed this a great deal more than performing cute tricks.
