Well, PM Johnson went to parties during the soft shutdown. SCANDAL!!! His handling of Covid-19 was awful, but it is the parties that is the problem? OI!

Meanwhile, with the 4/7's support of his own party, it really does make one wonder, does the UK have ANYONE fit to run the country?! There doesn't appear to be a opposition party worth a darn. And Johnson/conservatives are struggling both with their own Brexit as well as generalized governance.

It is as if the British governance system miscarried, died, and all that was left was Johnson.

How is that worse than what US politicians like Gavin Newsom did?
And would there even be a scandal if a hypothetical PM Jezza had partied during shutdown?

That’s pretty much exactly what happened.

Rupert Murdoch and Lord Rothermere skillfully used the Brexit campaign to finally eradicate the Labour Party as a political force. This has resulted in a defacto one party system in the UK, and we all know how great such systems are for those living under them. Just ask any North Korean.

Johnson is a buffoon and pathological liar. The Queen had to sit alone at her husband's funeral and that buffoon is quaffing down champagne and cake.

The UK Labour party was the author of its own misfortune.

But I'm sure elitists bleating endlessly about the racist Brexit voters are sure to persuade the return of Labour's prodigals to the fold. Keep it up.

EDIT: Oh, and make sure nobody in the Labour Party knows or will say what a woman is. The public loves that.

History does not bode well for Boris. A vote of no-confidence leads to another vote of no-confidence which leads to another.

He is bleeding badly and does not have the wherewithal to staunch the bleeding.
Since 1742 there have been 21 votes of no-confidence. No PM has survived long term. All were defeated in another vote or lost at the next general election.
The sharks are circling.

Agreed. Last no confidence winner had better totals and was gone in six months.

Boris Johnson, Gavin Newsom — Same-same.

You guys should write for The Onion.

Good :)

All the Conservatives must do to win a general election is nothing too offensive or silly. But Boris just can't help himself.

Hey, if the people don't want that, they can always vote Lib-Dem.

bilby has made his utter hatred for The Daily Mail and Brexit clear many, many times. Whilst I do not accord anywhere nearly the same cultural power to The Daily Mail that bilby does, even if it had that power, Labour would still have been responsible for the missteps it has taken and continues with.

Clearly, the blood is in the water for Mr Johnson. I suspect the invasion of Ukraine (and his response) saved his ass for now.

Watching his press conference in Rwanda, everyone pretty much asking him, when he's resigning.

I suspect it was Covid, to be honest. If that didn't happen, there would have nothing to blame for Brexit being so shit. Kinda like how Bush Jnr blamed a shitty economy on 9/11

Threads like this are a reminder of why I should never run for president. I'm so far removed from the goings-on internationally that I'd be of no use to the world. Like every US executive branch after John F Kennedy.

Time to nominate Joe Root or Ben Stokes as PM. The nation has no one else to lead them. The majority party is shit, the opposition is meek. Brexit occurred-ish, so Johnson should be invincible at this point as PM. That was the deal, wasn't it?

Its sad but those 2 could probably do no worse and most likely be better.
