So I'll try something else. Calling Trump "Joffrey 2.0" or "Tangerine Mussolini" are not only meant to be insulting to Trump, but provide context on why he is such a cunt. He loves his temper tantrums. He wanted military parades in his honour, he joked about being President for life. Calling him Joffrey or Mussolini highlights that. All four of the occupying powers in 1945-50 were hugely impressed by the German Autobahn network, and its huge value for military logistics.

The three Western powers saw it and said “If only we had had something like this, we could have won the war so much more easily”, and they embarked upon a massive highway construction programme in their home nations. Eisenhower’s experience as Supreme Allied Commander in the Western European theatre put him in a particularly good position to grasp the value of the system to the military capabilities of a nation.

The Germans began building transport infrastructure for military purposes almost a century earlier; If you look at the railway maps of England, France, and Germany, it’s noticeable that England and France have major railroads radiating out from their capital cities, while the Germans built a series of parallel East-West mainlines across their country, to support the mass troop movements implied by the Schliffen Plan. After WWI, they repeated the feat with Autobahns, reflecting the shift in importance from rail to road for military transport.

Good is generally boring. Bad is generally notable. Good gets things done, bad tries to take credit for things that they had little to do with.

A guy named Brandon wins a NASCAR race for the first time in ever, and the crowd starts chanting "Fuck Joe Biden" because if there is one thing Conservatives hate, it is mixing sports with politics (but is NASCAR even a sport?). The reporter hears the chant and thinks it is "Lets Go Brandon", because she is interpreting something she completely wasn't expecting to hear into something more familiar in her mind (this is how the brain works). Of course, the #Lets Go Homelander sorts of people thought this was the MSM lying and applying propaganda to hide how angry the NASCAR crowd was about Biden, when in fact, it appeared to be an honest mistake. Biden wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree even when he was younger, but he has always been an honest righteous man with centrist ideals. LBJ, Nixon, Bush-41 and Karl Rove (Bush-43) were all smarter than Biden, but Biden was simply a better human than any of them. (Bush-43 was also a relative lightweight so for this comparison I'll pair him with one of his high-IQ advisors.)

The GOP is so predictable! They like to deflect attack onto their betters by accusing them of Republicans' own sins! The GOP has sexual predators like Trump and Gaetz, so they make that accusation. Trump is a laughably inane and stupid man, so they make that accusation against Biden. And so on.

Biden has surrounded himself with good people. They're doing a good job; it would be even better if not hobbled by GOP malice.

I get frustrated with Biden on occasion, but he's fundamentally a good man and a competent administrator, rare qualities in the White House. I've voted for him twice, once in 2012 and then in 2020, and I don't regret either vote. A performance measurement of a leader would better be based on something more like successfulness versus failure. Data points that everyone would agree on regardless of political ideology.
