This is politically incorrect to say, but in light of black homicide rate being ~5x that of whites in the US (according to FBI) a big contributing factor to the discrepancy is that Canada has 3% blacks vs. 13% in US.

I do agree that we need sensible gun control. And my post was tongue-in-cheek in the way I wrote it, but I have a serious point behind it. Even knives are capable of inflicting high death tolls, even if that is easier to do with guns.
Gun control measures should focus on people trying to get guns, or possessing guns illegally, rather than banning certain types of guns for not well thought out reasons.

As for mass killings in Canada over the past 50 years, 15 of the victims died from knife wounds and 60 were killed by firearm. That's a ratio of 1 in 5. So stop your bullshit, both of you.

Seriously, I would have expected the ratio to be higher than that. Maybe because too many people don't know how to use guns. Or they do like Boyz N the Hood instead of aiming and hitting a ...

We have a serious issue going on in my community and there is a lot of us black folk that recognize that and working hard as fuck within our communities to change things. There's little consequence for murder???

The guys (and were talking nearly all guys here) do more than murder. If you have the propensity to murder then you probably have little reservation about other violence and crime. It's no secret that most crime, and most violent crime, is committed by a small sample of habitual offenders. When police step back and local prosecutors and judges prefer leniency for repeat offenders, the results are no suprise.

We didn't do that here in Florida yet there was an "explosion" of crime during the pandemic (at least in Orange County). The cause of crime is a chemical-like reaction between mixing poverty with the long-held sentiment of fuck the system that fucked us for years evolving into a portion of my community (IMO) losing their way/minds. What am I doing? Trying to help guide the youth away from the arms of the lost fucks who just don't give a shit and rather continue the cycle of violence. In fact I have one I just let into my house to do his homework because his sisters are into gang shit and he's not built like that. His father died and I just naturally became his outlet for the goings on in his life. This is one of the ways you can effect change, not posting captain obvious shit on an message board. This kid is not the only one that sees me as a father figure. And let me tell you, I've been threatend enough times to be tired of black on black crime more then YOU EVER WILL BE.
