Covid-19 miscellany

The most famous non vaxed athlete in the world gets his revenge at the US Open which features Moderna as a sponsor;

Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to win the US Open on Sunday night. Along with his fourth victory in Flushing Meadows, he also picked up another accolade during the match. One Djokovic play was named the "Moderna Shot of the Day." The shot was Djokovic’s return to Medvedev, who sent his own ball into the net. The mishap clinched the win for the Serbian tennis year – the 24th Grand Slam title of his career.

Hilarious.
That's just fucking stupid.

3 years from the start of the pandemic that killed 1 million people and it is relegated to a joke by conservatives.

In a couple days my wife is planning to drive from Massachusetts to South Dakota to bring donations to a Lakota reservation. She'll go from Massachusetts through upstate NY, cross into Canada, reenter the US at Detroit and then through Michigan, a small part of Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and then South Dakota. She has some concern whether someone will give her trouble for wearing a mask when she's inside a building.

In many parts of Los Angeles I cannot walk the street without getting hassle from drug addled homeless people or go to the mall without a mob of people getting violent while they ransack a store and if I park my car I can only hope the windows haven't been broken.

Honestly, it is a miracle you've survived this long. You deserve a Twix.

Can you react to any comment without taking things out of context? Or are you pragmatic enough to realize sometimes people don't need to hear your opinion in the wild.

I have him on ignore. If everybody did that nobody would have to put up with the shit posting.

I replied to your asinine comment in kind and you start getting all prissy about it?

Jog on.

You mocked another poster, making stuff up about the shit you don't actually deal with and you are complaining now because of asinine comments? These trials and tribulations of yours deserves a Daily Mail article.

So I'm trying to find the latest on new boosters coming out. It looks like there should be a couple of new ones in the next 30-60 days. I make sure that my mom gets the booster(s) for sure, and I get them as well, as much for her sake as mine.

I'm still seeing people wearing masks here in Michigan. I've never seen anyone get hassled over it.

I don't want to start a derail here. But I cannot imagine how driving donations from Massachusetts to South Dakota is anything but an expensive and earth stupid extravagance.

I think she's most concerned about Indiana, Wisconsin and South Dakota.

This trip is largely about meeting the people who run the charities out there and seeing first hand the conditions on the reservations. She'll make a couple trips but then shift to money or having Walmart or Amazon deliver but delivery is problematic because in a lot of cases street addresses don't exist and UPS/FEDEX don't know how to make the delivery.

Yes, that is typically when you come to the conclusion that the trip and investment involves a bit more than a $25 gift card.

Which is why I asked.

Imagine this moron being president of the USA.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said criticism of California’s tough Covid-19 restrictions was valid and he would have taken an entirely different approach, given what he knows now about the pandemic. “I think we would’ve done everything differently,” Newsom said in a taped interview set to air on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday. "I think all of us in terms of our collective wisdom, we’ve evolved. We didn’t know what we didn’t know. We’re experts in hindsight. We’re all geniuses now.” Later in the interview Newsom responded to criticism of his state’s decisions by saying: “All of it’s legitimate in terms of reflection.”

Politico

"follow the science" he said. What fucking science was he on about? There was no science to support any of the lockdown measures. He was going on TV lecturing and scolding the people who questioned his policies and "the science".

If there was any justice in the world he would be locked up for what he did to the people of California.
