NBC performed an experiment in 1980 by broadcasting a game without commentators. It was interesting, and a bit strange, but people would have gotten tired of it quickly as the novelty wore off. So, to answer your question, no, football would not be the same without commentators.

And you know what would have happened how?

I can with just as much certainty say that people would have simply adjusted to it and the games would have gone on.

The broadcast would have changed, NOT THE GAME, and that was the question.

The women voluntarily join too. If there are making below min wage, why aren't they working as a cashier at Target? You don't think those opportunities provide a better long term payoff for them than other min wage jobs?

Players voluntarily agree to play football. Why aren't they paid minimum wage? Why don't coaches volunteer their services, for the love of the game? Why aren't refreshments at the stadium free? Why does anyone have to pay for parking?

Generally you are not paying NFL players millions to play football. They would probably do that for a lot less. Some might even volunteer. You are paying them millions to play for your team instead of someone else's.

If I only work one hour a year and it is for pay the law requires that that pay meet a minimum standard for that hour. Why is that so hard for you to understand? And what is it about cheerleaders that make you think they are grown people providing a service worthy of $7.25 a day?
