The Purge

Nothing more than an attack on the economic interests of everyday Americans. I'm fully expecting a shutdown of the FDIC as well.

I don't know off hand if Project 2025 mentions the FDIC but it's so clear that Trump lied while trying to distance himself from it given that this new Director of OMB is describe as an architect of Project 2025.

I’m shocked that no one pointed this out prior to the election. If only Trump voters had known this important information before they pledged their votes to him.

Too many Trump voters and voters in general aren't paying attention.

Remember that the day after the election Tariff was the most Googled word?

I recall during the campaign when Trump was trying to distance himself from Project 2025, it was obvious that Trump was lying again. It's usually safe to assume that Trump is lying until it's proven otherwise.

I've lost count of how many Project 2025 authors are now in his administration.

Oh well if it doesn't mention it that must just be me being alarmist (sarcasm).

Trump supporters are enjoying "owning libs" so much that they don't realize how all this will impact more than libs.

So, who or what organization is being violent against Christians? Who is discriminating against them?
Us heathens of course. And the Congressional Secular Coalition. Remember how out of whack their definition of 'violence and discrimination' against christians is.

I've even considered writing a polite email to my Trump endorsed congressman,
Unless you donated lots of money to his 'campaign fund', he won't read it. He may assign a flunky to send a thank you note.

Are they purging the judicial branch opposition next?

I'm wondering how long I'd have left at my place of employment if I barged into IT and accounting demanding access to all files. If they had nothing to hide they wouldn't be firing me or calling the police as I 'made a scene'.

I know. That’s why I’m not going to waste my time.

This is off-topic, but... A few years back, 10-20 maybe, I decided to visit the website of a Senator and use the form to send a response. It had a pull-down menu for the topic and comments section. I selected something, don't remember what, then as an experiment, in comments I wrote something to the effect of "I don't want to discuss X because this is really about Y. Whatever you don't respond about X. So Y blah blah blah." Then, I got what appeared to be an automated response about X. So, I'm just thinking that even flunkies don't do this kind of thing anymore. Maybe it is more sophisticated than back when I tested the system. Maybe now, they have AI write a first draft and someone just quickly makes sure that the AI didn't severely glitch and threaten you. Who knows...

Back when we were organizing demonstrations against the Iraq invasion a friend of mine explained something to me.
"Don't bother with email. Don't bother with form letters. Send hand written, hand addressed, letters to your representative or it'll never be seen by anyone who matters."
She had once been a DC intern.

She, her husband, and I bought a bunch of stationary and stamps. We added a photocopies of a list of talking points, and gave them to anyone who agreed to hand write a letter and send it.

...and that is why the US never got bogged down in a ridiculous stupid occupation in Iraq. But it is true, at least for OSHA, for print and mail.

The truth is, the people only care if it impacts them or if it gets to be "too much" (see 2006). The GOP is allowed to spend $500 to $750 billion in Iraq alone, at an additional cost of thousands of maimed or killed US troops, and we were the evil ones for questioning the poor decisions the entire time. Oh, you want America to fail. *rolls eyes*

The people don't understand what is going on. To be fair, I don't think I get the scope of it either. The Trump Admin is pumping out more noise than Nancy Grace on a bullhorn. It is near impossible to know what to take seriously and what can be discarded as distraction.

Associated Press banned from Air Force One and from Oval Office.

This is because they have not changed "Gulf of Mexico" to "Gulf of America." The reason is that the AP is international and only the US has officially changed the name.

To be fair, it’s not like there’s a constitutional right to a free press.

It's been clear for years that Trump is a massive snowflake
I think that this particular episode is just Trump & Co trying to keep out media that isn't butt sucking Trumpistas like Fox and X and such.
AP might actually tell the truth and that's always bad for the Deep State.

That's exactly right. If you look at his other purges of media, this is consistent with changing the institutions. Less access by traditional journalists ==> Greater access by right-wing "news" ==> The most frequently sourced articles will be RW news. (butt sucking Trumpistas)

Dumb as rocks. But far more dangerous.

Trump officials fired nuclear staff not realizing they oversee the country’s weapons stockpile, sources say

CNN —

Trump administration officials fired more than 300 staffers Thursday night at the National Nuclear Security Administration — the agency tasked with managing the nation’s nuclear stockpile — as part of broader Energy Department layoffs, according to four people with knowledge of the matter.

Sources told CNN the officials did not seem to know this agency oversees America’s nuclear weapons.
