The Purge

The purging of the poors begins.
Waste? Inefficiency? Yeah, there will be some of that.

But when you have 68 million or so people on social security, which is costing around a trillion dollars, freeing America of $2 billion in waste is comical. Doge has no authority, and they are trouncing around DC like an elephant in a china shop, and they have all the keys to go wherever they want.

The other thing? The cost of preventing the waste. The irony in life is that sometimes it is cheaper not to develop huge backups, as long as the waste is effectively noise, because otherwise, you must pay more to stop the waste. Is the ratio reasonable? Look at the IRS. Increase staff by X, get 10X or 20X in return is very likely, maybe a gross underestimation.

Musk looks at stuff too inhuman of a fashion. He is clearly deep in Asperberger's. He shows absolutely no connection with humans for anything other than his own personal needs. He is not a person that should be leading this march. He doesn't care what the cost is to families, even if temporary. He'd be finding an efficiency, which probably gets him hard.

before even getting to that point it seems sensible to analyze the system to locate the waste first. They keep saying the word “waste” but haven’t yet explained where it is. They are just banking on the fact that the decades-long effort by the Right to cast aspersions in government workers has resulted in the average person assuming a civil servant is a lazy, useless person sucking at the teat of their taxes.

It’s like a patient comes to the doctor and complains of pain in the leg, so the first action is amputation.

To a doctor with a phony degree, armed only with a bone saw, amputation is always the only option because it's the only thing he knows how to do.

Certainly the Trump power is that of trutb via assertion. This power may lead to the end of our democracy.

Dude, you owe me a new BS Meter, mine exploded.
article said:
The mission of the task force will be to "immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination in the federal government," including at the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS and other agencies, Trump said in a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast.
Meanwhile:
article said:
"In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society, and to move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide," he said.
President Trump promises to defend believers of Islam! Is Sharia Law next?!

Just like how DOGE was BS but they're still doing damage.

Theocracy begins. About time to get your head out of your ass, deniers.
So, who or what organization is being violent against Christians? Who is discriminating against them? I live in the Bible Belt in a town that has about 95 churches and one tiny Freethought group that rarely even gets together to have dinner. Two of our gay members are no longer going to join us because they are "busy" and they don't want to talk about what's going on. The poor little Christians are so discriminated against here. The street preachers are downtown whenever the Weather is nice. I wonder how they would feel if the atheists were downtown telling them their beliefs were stupid.

I know the assholes have come close to destroying the SCS, but why are we still here if we are that worried about a true theocracy where those outside of the primary religion are discriminated against or jailed etc? How many of you bothered to read my post in he SCS forum about the Secular Coalition in Congress? The group is growing, so let's not give up.

Check it out. Join. Donate if you can. "We have nothing to fear but fear itself". ( hopefully 😱 ) The number of nones is growing and most Christians who I've known do support the religious freedom. The more open we are, the more they realize that we aren't the bad guys. At least that's been my experience.

Our professional governmental affairs team located in Washington D.C. works to educate Members of Congress, Congressional staff, the White House and its Administration on the issues impacting religious freedom and nontheistic Americans. By serving as a resource on the key issues that impact our mission, we are ensuring that your lawmakers are informed about how their votes and policies will support, or undermine, the separation of church and state and the lives of nontheists and religious minorities. Our governmental affairs team is working with the Congressional Freethought Caucus and our Capitol Hill champions to advocate for the passing of legislation that supports a secular government and raises the profile of secular Americans and our secular values in Washington.

The Congressional Freethought Caucus was founded by Representatives Huffman and Raskin in April, 2018.

There are quite a few other members in Congress. You can see who they are if you check out secular.org

On the answer is easy. Not letting them take over public schools and indoctrinating kids into Christianity, not letting them force others to follow their mythology, not letting them discriminate against anyone not sufficiently Christian for employment, not letting them discriminate against non-Christians for government jobs - all of that is discriminating against Christians.

Basically not letting them force Christianity onto everyone else by force of law is discriminating against Christianity.

Imo, it's more like the White Christian Nationalists attacking Black churches. Plus weren't most of the Jan 6th who were threatening Congress Christians? They who were attacking Congress, which is mostly made up of Christians. It's the Christians who are the violent ones attacking other Christians. I grew up when Bible reading and prayer were still in he public schools and though it's good it was removed, to be honest, it didn't indoctrinate anyone. It was boring. The teacher read a brief Bible section, like a Psalm and the so called Lord's Prayer was said. Kid are brainwashed by their parents and churches and conservative Christian schools. There are many organizations that are fighting this shit. The Congressional Secular Coalition. has a Facebook page and so do most of the other organizations. While I hate Facebook, it's good that the message is out there, so I'm not giving up. We all know that Trump is full of shit and he only worships himself. Hopefully in time, there will be enough of a fight to stop him and the rat.

They're going after PBS and NPR, too.
I know. They've already removed funding, although that's been going on for a long time. Let them investigate. There is nothing there that's no true. I think it's mostly a scare tactic. I haven't given to NPR in years, but I guess I better put it on my list this month to make a small donation.

Trump has threatened all of the late night hosts but they aren't cowardly and are still doing some great comedy and satire making fun of Trump and his allies. They will say they are attacking and investigating anything they don't like. We out number them so we must do whatever we can to fight back. I heard yesterday that some Republicans are getting constant calls and emails regarding how upset their constituents are regarding what's going on. if enough people complain, it will help. I've even considered writing a polite email to my Trump endorsed congressman, telling him how these tactics, like cutting back aide to the poor, violate the very principles of the Christian Gospel, violate religious freedom and the basics of the constitution, while reminding him that he is supposed to represent all of us in his district, while encouraging him to please give some serious consideration before he blindly follows what other Republicans want and giving up the unique power that Congress has regarding financing the government etc.

I haven't done it yet, but I've been thinking of a nice, police way to try and guilt him. I wrote to a conservative Congress critter once before and got a polite response. It might not have made a difference, but things weren't nearly as extreme as they are these days. It was just a short letter about a few thing I didn't agree with at the time.

If I actually find the motivation to write him, my letter will be full of the nicer verses from the NT. The ones that talk about things like helping the poor, welcoming the stranger, and how it's harder for a rich man to enter heaven then for a camel to enter the eye of a needle etc. It will be cordial. I will even start off by congratulating him for winning the election.....Sometimes a person can influence someone in a positive way and sometimes someone a person can influence someone in a negative way. It may be worth a try. I won't mention my own beliefs. I will just say that my late mother who was an evangelical Christian was a big supporter of the SCS, giving to the poor etc. and she would be devastated if she knew what was happening these days. Now all I need is the motivation to do it.

I'm going to ask a couple of my Christian friends if they will do this as well, when I see them this morning. Maybe I can write an actual letter and see if some will sign it with me. :)

FEC commissioner has been illegally fired. The FEC is supposed to be bipartian/non-partisan and it is illegal for the President to fire them.
