How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

How stupid. You don't even know what imperialism is. An imperialist tries to steal the land and resources of others. Now go back and look at your post. You think Russia should get someone else's territory
Stupid is you. Imperialism is NATO/EU moving into Russia. And if baltic Nazistans end up back in Russian "Empire" that would be not an imperialism but a payback for their nazi shittiness.
Which goes back to your once-Russia always-Russia fallacy.

Nobody moved into Russia until Ukraine opened a second front in the war you started. It's just you couldn't stand your puppet losing control. It's not NATO driving this, it's the fear of your own republics deciding to leave. You're (Russia, not you personally) the abuser who can't stand that their wife escaped.
Eastern Ukraine IS Russia, has always and will always be Russia.
Kiev is Russia too.
You can have Galicia, even though it had been Russia until "EU" exterminated russian population, leaving only degenerate ukro-nazi-scum.

And LOL to Trump latest proclamation and warnings to Russia.
100% tariff on import from Russia (to US I guess). I am trying to figure out why would he do that?
My guess would be deranged orange piece of stupidity thought he had to do something to look tough and actually believes that it would make it so.
Pathetic, truly pathetic.
For the record, Russia does not export much to US but that little (enriched uranium and titanium parts for Boeing) that we do export US needs more than we.
And 50 days? that's awfully generous, I am not being sarcastic here.
I guess such a good mood on the latest Lavrov-Rubio summit.

Rubio: Hey Sergey, can you now take Kiev in 50 days?
Lavrov, We'll sure try, comrade Marco.
Rubio: In case you can't we will think of something.

You are such a whiner! Trump took the neutral route. 10 days ago, Putin told Trump that he'd return to the negotiation table in 60 days. Yesterday, Trump announced to the world that Putin has 50 days before the tariffs start. And by the way, the new tariffs will be on countries that buy Russian oil and minerals.

Oh goody, "more tariffs". Trump is buying time for Putin. 50 more days?

Trump is not doing anything for anybody but himself. You have to know that.
Trump/US has no cards.

*Looks at the post count of the thread.*

Must have something. Sure, the US isn't going to stop Russia. Lots of dead people didn't stop Russia. Lots of painfully slow progress hasn't stopped Russia. The inflation and high interest rates haven't stopped Russia. Russia seems pretty damn sure they'll keep at this and maybe win some day.

Why should we stop resisting US aggression? Especially when we are winning.

Coincidentally, about the amount of time left in the summer campaining season, before the Rasputitsa turns the terrain into a sea of mud.

Whatever "push" Russia attempts, and whatever level of success they have, they will be forced by weather to curtail operations in September.

So Trump and Putin can put on a clown show in September that makes Trump look powerful in American eyes, because he "forces" Putin to do something Putin was always going to have to do regardless; and makes Putin look clever in Russian eyes by once again fooling the US President (as though that was even slightly difficult to do).

Both evil dictators gain support at home, while Ukraine suffers.

Wrong as usual. Rasputitsa starts in the middle of October. Comrade Orange could have given us 90 days.
And the way this conflict is conducted, Rasputitsa has not been such a big factor.

Russian eyes really want to stop this nonsense of talking to americans and finish Ukraine already.

I doubt either one of them (Trump&Zelensky) will get much support.
Trump administration is clearly divided about this Ukraine Project. And Trump's just kicking the can it seems.

Speaking of ukro-nazi propaganda garbage ealrier posted by the usual suspect about foreigners in Russia.
This is a channel where a lot of them participate. Francine from Florida looks very much like the woman in that AI generated BS.
She is fine and the video was posted yesterday. And I don't think she has anything to do with russian propaganda. And again, happy woman in that ukro-garbage propaganda is completely different from beaten one.

Anyway. Francine looks a lot like "beaten" woman.
The rest of the gang is american, french, Japanese and chinese.
French girl speaks russian without any accent. I had been buffled by that before (in this video) she mentioned that her father is russian (mother is french). American girl also speaks without accent but I think she is also part russian, can be wrong.
British guy improved a lot from his earlier videos. Japanese speaks with very nice distinct accent, I have to admit. Chinese has accent too but it does not sound prototypical chinese, I mean it's not strong. Francine has no accent, but if I remember correctly she has been in Russia since the 90s.
Danny (fat american from Indiana) is not in this video. He is basically russian at this point, he is a trained (in Russia) actor and plays in russian movies and TV series. He broke his leg in the spring in Moscow (Damn you Putin!). It was reported in the russian news.

You mean, because Russia's forces have been bogged down since the beginning anyway? Yeah, I agree.

But they will need to somehow achieve a transition to mobile warfare, if they are ever to actually win.

They show no signs of having a plan for that, that is any better than ones the folks commanding the Western Front had in 1916.

"Throw lots of conscripts into the grinder and hope the enemy gets so tired of killing them that they give up" isn't really working for Russia. But they've got nothing else.
