Are we now in full blown fascist totalitarianism?

The US is now a surveillance state like China.

Border Patrol is monitoring US drivers and detaining those with ‘suspicious’ travel patterns

The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious, The Associated Press has found.

The predictive intelligence program has resulted in people being stopped, searched and in some cases arrested. A network of cameras scans and records vehicle license plate information, and an algorithm flags vehicles deemed suspicious based on where they came from, where they were going and which route they took. Federal agents in turn may then flag local law enforcement.

Suddenly, drivers find themselves pulled over — often for reasons cited such as speeding, failure to signal, the wrong window tint or even a dangling air freshener blocking the view. They are then aggressively questioned and searched, with no inkling that the roads they drove put them on law enforcement’s radar.

....

While collecting license plates from cars on public roads has generally been upheld by courts, some legal scholars see the growth of large digital surveillance networks such as Border Patrol’s as raising constitutional questions. Courts have started to recognize that “large-scale surveillance technology that’s capturing everyone and everywhere at every time” might be unconstitutional under the Fourth Amendment, which protects people from unreasonable searches, said Andrew Ferguson, a law professor at George Washington University.

...

“They are collecting mass amounts of information about who people are, where they go, what they do, and who they know … engaging in dragnet surveillance of Americans on the streets, on the highways, in their cities, in their communities,” Nicole Ozer, the executive director of the Center for Constitutional Democracy at UC Law San Francisco, said in response to the AP’s findings. “These surveillance systems do not make communities safer.”

How long until they start pulling me over because of my anti-Trump bumper stickers?
Why do you hate America?

Quiet Piggy says it’s a capital crime to remind service members to refuse illegal orders, WHICH THEY ALREADY SWORE TO DO.
Military and federal law, including the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), REQUIRE that service members must obey LAWFUL ORDERS ONLY and have a DUTY to DISOBEY manifestly UNLAWFUL orders.

Our ignorant president represents that honoring the Constitution rather than his illegal dictates, is a capital crime.
THAT IS ANOTHER TRUMP LIE, and probably his most dangerous one yet.
His idiot followers by the thousands are threatening elected officials who urge service members to follow their oath. I look forward to the day when his trolls are jailed for making threats of violence. This is terrorism plain and simple.

QUIET PIGGY NEEDS TO BE REMOVED.

Suspect in custody. A they/them perhaps?
Oh, it is almost certainly a <stereotypical member of my least favourite outgroup>, though I will of course never mention my expectation in this regard ever again if it actually turns out not to be.

If it does turn out to have been a <stereotypical member of my least favourite outgroup>, you will never hear the end of it, as it will prove beyond doubt that my prejudicial biases are based in fact, and not merely a reflection of the poisonous nonsense I consume from my preferred media sources. And I will constantly refer back to this post as evidence of my precience and erudition in the face of your tiresome insistence on "facts" and "evidence" as a precursor to conclusions.

"We're not bigoted against trans people! We just think they're most likely to be the suspect every time there's a shooting for some reason!"

I don't know of many Afghan trans shooters. But I was correct, indeed a man.
Trump said the shooting "underscores the single greatest national security threat facing our nation," saying the U.S."must now reexamine every single alien from Afghanistan who has entered our country under Biden and we must take all necessary measures to ensure the removal of any alien from any country who does not belong here or add benefit to our country."
Well they did benefit our country. That's how they got here in the first place. They aided our troops, put their lives on the line.

Of course they are going to blame Biden, but wasn't this guy approved under Trump?

Trump, citing information from the Department of Homeland Security, said the suspect entered the U.S. from Afghanistan in September 2021, and criticized the prior administration of President Joe Biden.

...

Lakanwal applied for asylum in 2024 and was granted asylum in April 2025, under the Trump administration, according to three law enforcement sources.

I believe that it was Trump's withdrawal plan that Biden followed. I don't know if it was Trump or Biden's plan to allow into the US those Afghans who aided US troops and would have been killed if they stayed.

Either way, I believe that Trump rescinded that welcome and has said that all Afghans who aided US troops and would have been killed by the Taliban and were then allowed to come to the US would be kicked out again and sent back to Afghanistan. Essentially a death sentence.

Now it looks like the shooter may be one of the people who aided US troops and is now being told to go back to Afghanistan to be killed.
