Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

But connecting the dots regarding Trump's relationships with major Central Asian criminals is an example of news she presents, that's too difficult for any other news team.
I think RM is a true journalist unlike most of the talking heads seen/heard on TV and radio.

Thank you. Somebody takes my side.

But everyone else seems to have missed my point. The large-scale financial crimes in Kazakhstan and its neighbors and the strong circumstantial evidence of Trump's involvement are complex stories that simply are NOT going to appear on ordinary "news". (Definition of "News" : New information of interest.)

Set aside for the moment your distaste for Ms. Maddow's style and show us a different information source that carries these stories. (I'm not saying they don't exist. But are they easy to find?)

Mocking him for the FIFA Peace Prize reflects on you, not him. He earned that honor, and his excellence reflects on us as a society, same as sunlight lights up the moon. 2026 will simply provide more proof. The rollout will begin just after the New Year. I'm sure my list is too short, and the WH will proudly announce more honors and events.
National Dairy Council World Unity Award - Previously only awarded to Elsie, and that was in 1949.
Perrier Pan-European Medal of Diplomacy - Voted on by 11 NATO countries who have not yet devoted 2% of GDP to their pact dues, but who will be excused through 2028.
White House Staff Warm Huggy Statuette - Those who know him best of all; 'nuff said. Gold-plated.
Snapchat Best Posts and Peace Honorary - No one, outside of some 14-year-old in Aurora, Illinois, posts more and with less recourse to Spellcheck than the Donald. Give it up!!
World Coalition of Organ Grinders Peace Accords Medal - To be presented by a monkey named Mr. Sylvester.
Global Tribunal of War Criminals Legal Eagle Award - at last, someone is acknowledging DJT's pioneering work in loopholes.

Rumored: honors to be announced from American Pickleball League, National Pork Board, and Estate of George Lincoln Rockwell.

The Trump administration just removed two national holidays (MLK and Juneteenth) as free entry days to National Parks and put his birthday as a free day instead.

I read that earlier today in the news. CNN or NYT I think.

Trump is racist garbage.

Even devout racists don't do things like that. Trump tries to be "in your face." Demolishing much of the White House after promising not to, renaming things after himself, etc. If he weren't demented he'd see that history will treat him as an utter buffoon. Shouldn't his children attempt some intervention? Doesn't he have more important matters to occupy his "mind"? Planning the invasion of Greenland? Selling more secrets to the Emirates so that Ivanka and/or Melania can have their own luxury 747(s)?

Here at IIDB we have one hard-core Trumpist and a few fellow travelers. What do they say about all this crap? Just "Sleepy Joe and 'Heels up' Harris would be worse"?

In other news, many of the public libraries in Tennessee are shut down so books can be inspected and those with LGBTQ content removed.

The "Five Eyes" (an informal sharing arrangement among MI6 and the intelligence services of four other Anglophonic countries) has been reduced to the Four Eyes: The Fifth Eye was too eager to share with enemies.
On the one hand I find it hard to make a satisfactory response for Trump's personal flaws. But then on the other hand you have this:

Should we as American's care more about Trump's personal flaws or should we care about his public policy favoring common sense and middle class prosperity? What really matters to an American....Trump stroking his ego or does it matter how he runs our country? It should be noted Granite City is opening an additional blast furnace hiring on 400 additional jobs which will easily support a family of 4 with a single income. 400 represents only the beginning of the jobs because there are downhill jobs of the US Steel jobs supporting those in the local community. It should also be noted that this plant produces steel which for the most part is exported to other parts of the US and world. That means these workers are producing GNP that helps reduce the US trade deficit.

As an aside I'm not sure I even like what I am seeing this last decade because it feels like this plant works for the US government and POTUS now. First Granite City was closed for a short term during Obama's term and then re-opened again when Trump got elected his first term. Then after Trump's first term, Granite City was going to be closed again under Biden's regime but now has reopened under Trump again. This time we can not even pretend it was a coincidence since we have Trump's tariffs and Trump is now part of the board of directors of US steel.

A worker at Granite Steel making an average salary of $150k with full healthcare benefits can easily able to afford to support a family of 4 in this low cost midwest location. More to the point. If you were one of the young (with no college education) 400 employees that will be hired, would you vote for Gavin Newson on the next POTUS election cycle or would you vote for someone favoring Trump's policy? Would you really care about someone's personal shortcomings or their stance on whether they were kind to the woke? Or would you look at your own prosperity, your own family and legacy, and state of the nation?

Uh huh...

Layoff announcements top 1.1 million this year, the most since 2020 pandemic, Challenger says

Tell us again how great Trump's policies are.

Nobody clicked your peculiar link. Is the rest of your post a quote or a summary?
Should we as American's care more about Trump's personal flaws or should we care about his public policy favoring common sense and middle class prosperity?

Wow! :realitycheck: How's that common sense and prosperity holding up for all y'all?

What really matters to an American....Trump stroking his ego or does it matter how he runs our country?

Should I infer you're fond of Trump's treatment of the USA? Have I mentioned ... Wow!?
... hiring on 400 additional jobs which will easily support a family of 4 with a single income

According to BLS.gov, the number of unemployed civilians was 6.52 million (3.9%) in Sept. 2024 and 7.32 million (4.3%) in Sept. 2025.
Sorry if you were hoping for figures more up-to-date than September. You probably didn't learn from Facebook or Truth Social that Trump has made it illegal for BLS to release early numbers.

I suppose the 400 jobs at Granite were not included in the September totals. That would mean that the unemployment under Trump is only 4.2998% (compared with Biden's 3.9%) instead of 4.3000%. Whippee.

I'm sure you believe that this Stable Genius, Greatest Leader Ever, gave us those 400 jobs personally. But we were curious to hear what you think of Hegseth's war crimes, Trump's pardons, his grifting billions via crypto, the demolishment of half the White House, or any of the dozens of headlines from Alternet I laid out yesterday for your benefit. No opinion on any of that? You were in such a tizzy over Biden's deficit I almost suggested you try Betahistine.

Total Debt: Around $38.4 trillion (December 2025) compared to roughly $35.5 trillion at the end of Fiscal Year 2024 (September 2024).

2.9 Trillion Dollar increase. Is that a big number in your dialect? All Biden's fault I suppose?

One thing good, arguably, is Trump's promise to "clean out the swamp" of bad government officials. I read that three cleanings are expected after a 12-month grace period:

* Kristi Noem is on the chopping block for hiring a Trump enemy (ex-lawyer) as her top deputy.
* Kash Patel is on the block for lending the FBI's private jet for the solo adventures of his girl-friend. (At least billionaire Mnuchin in Trump-45 was married to the woman he grifted perks to).
* Pete Hegseth has THREE faults, any of which would be a firing offense. Pop Quiz for RVonse: What have you read about Hegseth?

The whole point you missed completely. People care about their own prosperity and welfare first. Yes it is self interest but it is how people act. It is also how capitalism survives but also how the middle class grew in the first place. When a manufacturing plant is hiring for real high value jobs for real people, local people see this and take critical notice. At least the liberals can agree more manufacturing is good, that is something you couldn't even get them to agree with 10 years ago. More high value manufacturing means more good local jobs, less trade deficit, and hopefully less government borrowing (since there are more people employed making good money).

All the other juicy stuff flying around you think is true could just be the media lying. Like they regularly do to get readership. Their past performance is what guarantees even the slowest voter not to take immediate notice. These semi fiction headlines are not noticed compared to starting a prosperous life and a successful future legacy with your own family.

The link I posted you say you ignored was the best local source I could provide with regards to only reporting just the facts with no editorial comment. I know this was true reporting because I can personally verify what they said and I live in the same location and work at the same plant. (Of course for all you know I could also be a bot or a Russian/Chinese spy myself. But not likely though considering the length of time and post count I have established here.) I might be the stupidest person you have ever met but my reputation here at least establishes I am a real person.

Yea, there are many lies in media, especially in those owned by Murdoch. But what is even worse than their lies of commission are their lies of omission (and severe downplaying). Examples of the latter are their not reporting, or at best minimising, all the bad things and flaws of Trump. In comparison, they not only reported the smallest flaw of President Biden, but exaggerated them, or outright misrepresented him.
However, there are many forms of media, and people who are smart enough and honest enough, plus making the minimal effort required, can generally sort out the truth from the lies.

Naturally, there are many MAGATS who like and want to be lied to, and also like passing on false information, and are ignorant, uneducated and without integrity, just like their god Trump.

So Garbage administration is trying to hire back 450 meteorologists of the 550 that Insane chainsaw man (DOGE) fired.

Someone realized that good, lifesaving weather forecasts don't happen without meteorologists.

Good forecasts save lives and property. Bad or no forecasts mean that people get killed.

But of course it's been months since DOGE gutted the NWS. NWS will inevitably lose centuries of experience.

I see it in my own region. I use NWS when weather is normal. But if a real storm is coming I rely on the local TV stations who have experience. I read story a few says ago about how local TV forecasters have to apply their own experience to what the forecast computer say. And the TV stations produce MUCH more accurate storm predictions.

But lots of the country has nothing to depend on but NWS and so they need experienced forecasts for their regions.

I agree. But she talks so fast, it makes my head hurt.

This is bigger than just ICE

Fucking Trump administration!

ICE Tells Watchdog It Has No Videos to Release of Chicago Operations

The response to an information request contradicted the administration’s public testimony and raised concerns that it may be trying to evade oversight.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement told a nonprofit watchdog this week that it had found “no records” of body camera footage produced during its sweeping immigration enforcement operation in Chicago, raising concerns that it was skirting laws intended to ensure transparency and accountability.

The assertion, contained in a response to a public information request from the Freedom of the Press Foundation, contradicted the Trump administration’s sworn court testimony and the fact that it had previously submitted video footage to a judge. The response also raised questions about whether the administration is fully complying with a court order that required the use of body cameras in the monthslong operation, which has included a string of allegations of excessive force.

...

Experts in public records laws say such a response is a troubling sign that the Trump administration may be trying to evade public oversight mechanisms.

...

The response “indicates that ICE continues to feel increasing impunity” as an agency “exempt from accountability,” said Lauren Harper, who advocates for government transparency at the nonprofit. “It is extremely implausible that ICE does not have any of this footage — it just strikes me as beyond the pale.”

...

The limited known camera footage in the operation has already caused legal problems for the Trump administration. Judge Ellis used the clips submitted to her to rule that officers acted illegally with excessive force.

...

“They are trolling citizens and judges,” Ms. Harper said of administration officials. “It indicates that ICE continues to feel increasing impunity and that it has the right to behave as a secret police that’s exempt from accountability.”

Ya. No videos even though they used them in court and the court ordered them to use body cameras.

Evil lying sacks of shit.
