Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

I can’t stop thinking …

So it's Outrage Monday.

Trump does three shit-for-brains moves.

Stops Five East Coast Off-shore Wind Farms already under construction and some almost complete
Claims National Security but the military signed off on them

So he cuts these already approved developments, that are needed to try to supply the power that the US will need because?

There was already a court order allowing Revolution Wind of RI and CT to go forward and according to the CT Governor, this order is even more tenuous than the last.

We'll see you in court again

Announces a new "Battleship class" to be named after...Him of course
Battleships are obsolete. He's claiming 30-40K tons which is the size of WWI/WWI battleships. The Photo is the linked story looks like Frigate or Destroyer to me. Probably all made up. I doubt that anything 30k tons or larger is even under design other than aircraft carriers

The USS New Mexico BB-40 was 33K tons.

The Arleigh Burke class destroyer that's still being made is less than 10K tons.

A Trump Class warship. That means a first in the class would have to be named USS Trump. Gag me.

They will each weigh between 30,000 and 40,000 tons, he said, and will be built in the United States. “They’ll be very AI controlled,” he said, without explanation.

Trump had previously complained about the look of some US ships.

“I’m not a fan of some of the ships you do. I’m a very aesthetic person and I don’t like some of the ships you’re doing aesthetically,” Trump told an assemblage of military brass gathered at Quantico earlier this year.

It takes at least 10 years to get a new class of warship designed and built and the last several new destroyer classes that the US tried to make have been stinkers.

Fitted with “guns and missiles a the highest level,” hypersonic weapons, electric rail guns, cruise missiles and the “most sophisticated lasers in the world,” the new battleships will be the largest ever built, Trump said.

From the CNN story.

What a fucking fool.

30-40K tons is the size of a first rate battleship from WWI Era. The New Mexico I posted above was made during WWI and by WWII was small compared with South Dakota class 44K tons made in the late 1930's to early 1940's and the Iowa Class 57K tons mid-WWII.

The largest battleships ever built was the Yamato class, Japan, 73K tons in WWII.

Of course by then the battleship was obsolete. Subs and Aircraft carriers were the name of the game.

His is so full of shit.

Winning a war is increasingly going to depend on overwhelming the enemy's ability to respond to mass drone attacks -- and drones are far, far cheaper than the big ticket items they are sent to attack (costs are in the thousands versus a couple of billion for a battleship.) We better be developing our strategies, because our potential rivals/enemies certainly are.

Sunday, Rump stoped the airing of a 60 Minutes story about Salvadore's CECOT prison. But it aired in Canada.
60 Minutes episode not aired in US 12/21/2025. As aired in Canada:

The Supreme Court just said Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Illinois is illegal.

All I can say is that we started out with about a $210 mortgage in 1997 after putting 40% down with a 30 year and we quickly converted to a 15 year at about 4% and paid it off early. I was glad to have that no longer hanging over my head. Pay off sooner the better I say. Less interest to pay
When we sold the Company 6-7 yrs ago I paid off the cars, sold the rental house, cancelled line of credit I had been paying an annual fee for, and went to cash.
It's a good feeling to be 100% debt free, but hopefully I don't have to borrow any time soon, because I just found out it destroyed my credit rating. That has to be the most perverse system there is, penalizing people for not being up to their necks in debt.
Huh? That doesn't tank your credit. Our credit ratings are about 800, not a penny of interest anywhere on our credit reports. That's entirely from credit cards that are always paid in full. Nothing with an annual fee.
Yeah. The only hit I've ever seen on my credit report is something to the effect of a lack of available information but it has little effect.
Maybe “tank” was a poor choice of words, but my credit rating was between 800 and 830 depending on the rating agency, and I saw one at 720 last time I looked! I’ll check it again some day, hopefully before it matters. … the head lifeguard at our pool is a widow who barely scrapes by. Her credit rating is north of 850 because she is meticulous about paying bills that are “due” (doesn’t pay late) but she’s always under oppressive debt and sacrificing this to take care of that… doesn’t seem right.
Haven't looked for a while but they were always in the 790 to 810 range depending on utilization. (And why does utilization on one card matter?? One store with a nice deal on their credit card but a somewhat low limit--I don't buy from them often but when I do I often push it past 30%, sometimes past 50%. Why does that scare creditors?? It's only like a couple of percent of my total available credit, why get spooked over one card going up??)

My credit union gives me free FICO score checks, with past history. I just checked my FICO score (831) as of 9/25. It was 782 as of 12/24. A big jump in only 9 months but there has been no meaningful changes in my financial or credit activity. Go figger. By the way, your widow friend couldn't have a score north of 850, as that is the maximum score possible.
Maybe it's not a true FICO, there's another scale that goes to 900.

She said … if it’s impossible then she was exaggerating, or maybe she said something like “pegged at”.
But I do know that my own rating fell 100+ points in a few months without me ever missing a payment to anyone. All I did was cancel a LOC because I never used it and it had an annual fee, and paid off the car, which was my only loan. Also, afaict there are three(?) main credit agencies, and one of them is always 10-25 points lower than the other two. How does THAT work?
Home equity line of credit? Because the lack of installment debt counts against you as they have no way to see how you handle it.

The whole thing has a lot of noise to it but does a pretty good job of modeling how well people handle debt--you always pay your bills, in time you'll get above the 740 that's the highest meaningful score.

Rep. Joyce Beatty (of my state-- her district includes Columbus) is now suing to remove Trump's name from the Kennedy Center. She says the board action was illegal and not in the province of board decisions. A few legal experts came on MSNOW and backed her up.
Beatty is actually on the board, but she says that in the renaming discussion process she was muted and could not object to it. I can't wait to see the mark of the beast taken off the building. Total humiliation for Trump, and the late night comics will feast on it, which Trump could not endure. To make it sweeter, if it happens, Beatty is a past chair of the Black Caucus. Trump will go through a case of adult diapers if she prevails.
Maybe the chisels and hammers start bangin'.
