Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

India and US have a deal (sure, not yet signed). Tariffs on Indian products reduced to (a manageable) 18%. Trump and Modi declare that they are friends, again.
Trump doesn’t have friends.
None.
Not a single one since he had Jeffrey killed (which should let everyone know the cost of Trump’s “friendship”.)

Modi would have to be a total idiot to think Trump is a friend to anyone but himself.
Politics might dictate that Modi fibs and says Trump is his friend, but he certainly knows that’s a lie.

I'm not exactly seeing a drop from 25% to 18% being "manageable". It is BS. Trump and Modi are "friends" until Trump finds some other reason to go out on a tangent.
It was 50%, additional 25% for Russian oil imports. We have reduced but not stopped import of Russian oil and that is OK with US.
Stopping it immediately is not possible. If Trump goes on a tangent, Modi will have an answer for it.

Trump says Venezuelan oil will make up the difference for India. I suppose the Venezuelan goop will come to the US and lighter crude will go to India. I don't know that India has the ability to breakdown the Venezuelan stuff.
Yes, there is a problem there. That is why import of Russian oil will be reduced but not stopped.

Trump doesn't have friends. He knows only enemies and accomplices.
We know that. But civility re1quires us to say so. What is the harm in declaring Trump to be a friend?

And Modi is not that.

What is the harm in declaring Trump to be a friend?
In the US the number of people stupid or ignorant enough to think Trump has friends, is wreaking unspeakable harm. Liars who declare Trump to be the greatest friend anyone ever had, are responsible for convincing countless others to vote for the racist fraud,

In the US, people may think whatever they want, but no one outside US believes in Trump. It is just diplomatic speak by Modi. Not even Trump or his acolytes believe that. Trump made the phone call and not Modi.

Trump's Announcement:
Trump made the announcement via his platform, noting that a phone call with Modi finalized the trade deal, emphasizing the zero-tariff proposal and the importance of U.S.-India relations.
Modi's Response:
Modi expressed his delight over the reduced tariff rates on Indian products and thanked Trump on behalf of the Indian populace. However, he did not directly address the claims made by Trump regarding halting Russian oil purchases.

Trump's post on India Gate:
"India's beautiful Truimphal Arch. Ours will be greatest of all."
We are not in this "my .. is bigger than yours". We already have the largest statue in the world is the Statue of Unity (for our politician, Vallabh Bhai Patel, who unified India), which stands at 182 meters (597 feet) tall in Gujarat 422 million.. I consider that terrible waste of money. But we allow Modi for some of his idiosyncrasies. :)

White House Defends — Then Deletes — Racist Obama Clip Shared By Trump

Leavitt advised to “please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public,” but by 12 p.m. EST the video had been deleted from Trump’s Truth Social page.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office account on X reposted a screenshot of the video and wrote: “Disgusting behavior by the President. Every single Republican must denounce this. Now.” Ben Rhodes, who served as Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor, also shared a screengrab of the post and tweeted: “Let it haunt Trump and his racist followers that future Americans will embrace the Obamas as beloved figures while studying him as a stain on our history.” Trump’s post faced condemnation from both sides, with Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., calling it “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House” and urging Trump to delete it.

Bad news is better than very bad news, I guess; but should we be so proud of Americans if 30% of them are offended by Trump's racist tweets? Does it restore our faith in America to learn that a whopping 50% of registered voters are disappointed by Trump's Presidency?

HEADLINE: Almost 40% of American adults are able to solve this math problem: 2+2 = ?

Indeed. Disapproval needs to be 65+%. This whole 54% of Americans disapprove of illegal tariffs doesn't mean the needle has shifted.

For nearly a year, [Ty] Cobb managed White House matters related to FBI Director Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. Having been recommended to President Donald Trump by John Dowd (a member of Trump's private legal team), Cobb joined the White House internal legal team on July 31, 2017 and reported directly to Trump.

Alternet said:
President Donald Trump has become increasingly unhinged in his second term, and one of his former White House attorneys is warning that his unbridled second term could potentially be attributed to declining mental health.

In a Wednesday interview with Substack host Jim Acosta, Ty Cobb — who was a White House counsel in Trump's first administration — accused Trump of tarnishing "everything that was once dignified and sacred about America." He also suggested that the 79 year-old president was being allowed to run wild in a White House staffed almost entirely by sycophantic enablers.

"He's not well ... You cannot do the screeds he did for the G7, or the things that he had said about Greenland, the things he says about Venezuela, the things he says about his predecessors — Obama, Biden — it's just insane, the things he says," Cobb said. "And I think the story needs to be how extreme this is."

Cobb observed that during Trump's first presidency, he was frequently restrained by more experienced officials like former White House chief of staff John Kelly. He then expressed fear that Trump's second-term advisors like White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller and Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought were encouraging the president to act on his worst impulses.

"This is so far out of bounds. People have to deal with it. It's dangerous, very dangerous," he said. "And look at the damage. We have allies that have been our allies for 100 years, through wars, blood and treasure, who will not share intelligence with us because of the war crimes that Trump has committed. They won't share intelligence with us because they're afraid that it goes from Trump to Putin."

I suppose "Trump insider thinks the old man is insane" is like "Dog bites man" -- too commonplace to make the news. Still, it might have been mentioned at one of the major news pages or aggregators, if it were true, but I didn't see it.
@Loren Pechtel -- Is this just more FAKE news from your antagonist?

Trump: "Construction jobs are way up, right? Well, they're up because they're building all these factories all over the country. You have car plants under construction. I spoke to Mr. Toyota in Japan. I said, 'What's you name?' 'Toy-ota!' I said, 'If your name is Toyota you're a very rich guy.'"
