Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

US looking to spend more to reinvent the wheel.
article said:
“This $2 billion in funding to HHS is to build the systems and capacities to do what the WHO did for us,” one official said.

The Department of Health and Human Services has been leading the efforts and requested the funding from the Office of Management and Budget in recent weeks as part of a broader push to construct a U.S.-led rival to the WHO, officials said. Before withdrawing from the agency, the U.S. provided roughly $680 million a year in assessed dues and voluntary contributions to the WHO, often exceeding the combined contributions of other member states, according to HHS. Citing figures in the proposal, officials said the U.S. contributions represented about 15 to 18 percent of the WHO’s total annual funding of about $3.7 billion.
Article after article, I keep feeling like I'm in the Oscar crowd in The Naked Gun 3, right after Dreben traded the bomb for the gun (gun for the bomb?).

Jesus fuck. I am a citizen. I have paid over around 20k in tarriff costs. Personally.

Do you want to see my fucking invoices?

Also, if you're needing a broker for exports or imports, I have both positive and negative experiences with different companies.

So the Trump Admin is bragging about giving away money they never had in the first place.
To be fair, people giving away (or lending out) money they never had in the first place, is how modern economies became powerful and wealthy. Fiat money is better than commodity money, because it allows spending on infrastructure using the anticipated future returns from the existence of that infrastructure. Fractional reserve banking has a similar consequence.

Of course, there's always a temptation to misuse the system to fund operational, rather than capital, expenses. And there's also the temptation to funnel both kinds of funds into private pockets instead of into its nominal purposes - we call that funnelling "corruption", and it's often not even illegal.

Still, it's necessary to spend money to make money. To use an analogy with a household (always a dangerous thing when households and nations are such different economic entities), it is imprudent to refuse to take on a mortgage, and to pay rent until you save enough to pay cash from savings alone to buy a home; And absurd to tell a person in a comfortable and steady job that he shouldn't buy a cookie, just because he still owes half a million bucks on his home loan.

Today a jumbo banner with His Turdship's face was hung on the DOJ headquarters. It's one of those Scowling Trump poses -- if not the famous mug shot, then its cousin.
Holy fuck. I used to look at news mag photos of Beijing and Pyongyang and various Mideast capitals where the local dipshit dictator had his face emblazoned on walls and on giant hanging panels. I always wondered what it was like to live in that environment, where the images of squalid humans were made mountainous. Where the implication was that this human was the single greatest being in your country.
Now I know.
Trump must be thinking long-term about Mount Rushmore. How could he not?

It would be impossible to create a monstrous ugly mug out of rock as big as all the real president faces put together, in anything like a short term. He wont be around to see it defaced.

It's his Trumpturd's goal to be a extra very rich two-bit dictator with his ugly face on everything that will being him money. He's a mentally ill totally sick person.

He could have one of the current four faces of Mount Rushmore replaced with his own. Crazy idea, but then Trump is crazy, and USA is insane in that he hasn't been stopped yet. In any democratic nation he would have been deposed as soon as he started his crazy shit in 2025.

lol

Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended President Donald Trump's executive order spurring the domestic production of the weed killer glyphosate, as his Make America Healthy Again movement reels from the president's embrace of the chemical they despise.

This is near to what I was thinking. Trump could have Mt Rushmore "renovated".

What's wrong with glyphosate? :confused2:
Less than what is wrong with everything we ever used before, but I mean what's wrong with mRNA vaccines, either?

It's a chemical that people can blame things on and thus sue the makers of, a potential target for grifters.

Check in with the MAHA people. Or the Russian stooges like Will Wiley and tupac Chopra that were posting about it here in 2016. Tulsi and company have a lot to say, as do the Alex Jones people. Lots of awesome theories from that crowd.

Yep grifters like Natural News and the rest of the MAHA people have been nuts with disinfo about glyphosate and Monsatan. They’ve been so bad as to occasionally put me in the uncomfortable position of defending Monsanto which is a not so nice multinational corporation. These people were a huge part of the push that got Trump in both times. We will see if they feel burned by this.

Duh. Of course the Three Fascists dissented. Maybe Trump can force the three turncoats to resign so he can appoint some pedophiles or drug kingpins.
It sure took them long enough, but the felon is already suggesting he can work around this.

I doubt it unless he can get enough morons in Congress to pass a bill. I doubt there are enough in the Senate, not sure about the House.

Yeah, that's been my level take on it: a conspiracy theory grift attack designed for 'leftists' that will get them into the broader "health skepticism" community which they could then slowly toxify until it's MAHA.

The conversion is damn near complete, now.

Congress can't pass a bill unless it is to name a Post Office. Democrats will stop anything regarding a tariff in the Senate just like the GOP would have 10 years ago.

Trump will try and use something else to enact the tariffs, but the problem might be tariffing Tanzania for national security purposes won't pass the smell test. That said, it is taking forever for jurisprudence to happen.

Zackly!
Trump will try to make political hay out of Dems blocking his brilliant scam to rob poor people, and his idiot followers will forget that Republicans hold 6 of 9 SCROTUS seats.

Oh they can pass the hell out of a defense bill.

Reuters has two articles about importers getting their money back. Weren't the majority of those tariffs passed along ultimately to consumers? Wutdafukman? I want my taste.
