No. I think you are looking to stomp out its outcomes and unintended consequences by brute force . I compare that to treating “the measles problem” by scraping off red spots, or curing “the leprosy problem” by imprisoning lepers. You think I'm for the drug war?!?!
Things are starting to unravel for governor Goodhair.
Last week, the California Fair Political Practices Commission fined Governor Gavin Newsom $31,500 for failing to timely report more than $5.6 million in behested payments. Newsom solicited these “behest” payments from private sector companies, and then failed to timely report this to the FPPC, the State Campaign Finance Watchdog. “Behested” payments are donations that Gov. Newsom solicits from donors for his chosen nonprofits, charities, or government-related purposes. Between 2018 and 2019, UnitedHealth donated $220,000 to political committees controlled by Newsom, who later awarded $492 million in contracts to UnitedHealth subsidiaries That’s a $220,000 investment for a $492 million return. In 2020 alone, while Newsom had the state under his ordered lockdowns, he “behested” $226,520,000+ from various corporations that operate in California. “California Governor Gavin Newsom helped bankroll his wife’s charity with nearly $2 million he solicited from a Native American tribe – while fighting on its behalf to kill a rival casino,”

I don't know about your news source. Sorry, but I'm always suspicious. However, the left will be forever under suspicion due to the incredible high integrity exhibited by Trump. I suspect that history will show that very few politicans will be able to maintain the incredible integrity that Trump has demonstrated while in office. It is an incredibly high bar that very few will be able to approach.

You mean the kind that don't just blindly follow garbage just because it comes from the left? Both sides are spewing torrents of it, if you don't see it that means you're believing one of them.Pretending it isn't racism doesn't work, Loren.Pretending it's racism doesn't make it so.As a result, more crimes are detected in those neighbourhoods.Neighborhoods with higher crime rates get policed more heavily in general.
This increases the crime rate. Thereby justifying increased policing.
It's neatly circular, and only needs a pinch of racism to prime the pump, after which the system carries on producing racist outcomes without racists having to act on their racism at all, other than to occasionally defend the system as being non-racist because it is based only on "crime rates", which clearly have no racial component whatsoever and just happen to expose the fundamental fact thatniggers are a bunch of criminalssome neighbourhoods are more prone to crime than others.
A simple yardstick that doesn't involve policing at all: look around, how much property damage could you readily do/how much could you steal? If the answer is lots, you are in a safe location (at least assuming you aren't specifically targeted.) If the answer is little, the location very well might not be safe. This is measuring the risk evaluation of the people in the area. Looking along our street, I see multiple garden hoses, multiple pots holding plants, some lawn furniture, a truck with some tools in the back. Security bars are in the minority, no bars on the second floor windows. The fact that you see such things is a very clear indication that we consider the theft risk low enough that we have no problem leaving them out there.
The fact that more people are arrested in a location doesn't draw police. The fact that it's easier to find someone that should be arrested (or ticketed) does draw police--they're human, they'll go for the low hanging fruit.
And, yes, some neighborhoods are more prone to crime than others. Low socioeconomic status and transient populations both lead to crime.
Not everybody wears the same kind of goggles you do.
Good. You give those California wackadoodles a powerful tool like a 3D printer, and you never know what kind of dangerous sex toys they’re going to start cranking out.it puts impossible requirements on 3D printers, effectively outlawing them.
Traffic came to a stop at the busy intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Edgemont Street in East Hollywood as a man vandalized a Waymo driverless vehicle on Saturday. Los Angeles police say they arrived to find a shirtless man on top of the self-driving car in the middle of the intersection shortly after 1:35 p.m. Video from the Citizen App shows the man on the crushed windshield of the Waymo, holding a bent windshield wiper while screaming at the sensor on the top of the vehicle.
A major fly infestation is the latest problem plaguing people living near the Lineage warehouse in Boyle Heights, where millions of pounds of rotting food sit out in the open as workers slowly remove waste and tear down the burned-out building. The Lineage warehouse fire was officially declared knocked down eight days after it broke out at the facility near Union Pacific Avenue and Indiana Street June 17. Several neighbors Monday morning said that, in addition to rodents and the foul smell in the air from the spoiled food, they’re now seeing an influx of flies and mosquitoes. There was also a water main break over the weekend, which caused flooding in the neighborhood.
Then, why stay there? This is what we have to put up with in Los Angeles.

What caused this, and what should be done about it? Bonus: what are you doing about it?Then, why stay there? This is what we have to put up with in Los Angeles.

Because it wasn't always like this. This is a fairly recent development and at some point in the not too distant future I hope things will improve.

I see you responded to my post and my question solely with a "Roll eyes emoji". Are you trying to say that your plan for dealing with this one guy who sabotaged a Waymo and a localized storm of flies is "I plan to roll my eyes and express my emotions?"Then, why stay there? This is what we have to put up with in Los Angeles.

What's your solution to prevent people from attacking a Waymo? Then, why stay there? This is what we have to put up with in Los Angeles.

I swear, Trump voters are the most lazy, entitled human beings on the planet. How there are so many of them in California, a state that has always been defined by ingenuity, modernity, and shared civic spirit, is a mystery to me. Except, not really, because it makes sense for a lazy person to want to live somewhere where they know the hard work will always be done by someone else. It's just deeply irritating. Go home, authoritarians! Get an honest job. Vote for someone who isn't a hopelessly ineffective wannabe dictator you learned about on daytime tv. But do it somewhere else. Go home, and learn to wipe your own asses instead of expecting someone else to always do it for you. Have you no pride in your own worth and labor whatsoever? It's fucking shameful.
Poor baby. It was more "like this" than it is now, back in the sixties!it wasn't always like this.
Are you still in denial that you voted for a hopelessly ineffective wannabe dictator?"Vote for someone who isn't a hopelessly ineffective wannabe dictator you learned about on daytime tv.
