Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Mexican beef recipe.
Please!
I was going to do something with the nice steak that has been languishing here too long … needs cooked and I wanted to do tacos or burritos or something.
Uses ground beef but shredded steak would work well too. That's usually what I get when we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Trump could just start murdering people and the GOP wouldn't flinch.

I recall Trump said pretty much the same himself. He could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose one voter.

Of course that's not just an indictment of him but also of his followers.
… like that is even at issue?
He started murdering Americans a long time ago, and has only accelerated the process.

I don't understand why tariffs need to be lifted on beef to lower the price, I thought the exporter paid for it.

I am 'watching' this thread but new posts haven't been flagged in my 'alerts' for a month. So I started today 10 pages behind.
I apologize for the length of this reply.

It's possible that none of this happens if Ford hadn't pardoned Nixon because
When Nixon resigned people were saying 'The system works'. I disagreed. A working system would have impeached him.
This and the 1968 Chicago police riots were the start of my radicalization mistrust in 'the system'.

Sometimes you just need to add the <sarcasm> </sarcasm> tags
Yeah, as I get older I find it harder to recognize sarcasm.

All while taking a dump.
So many in so short a time. His staff must be generating them in advance.

The right-wing media ecosystem ... is now splintering, according to a new report.

...“It seems that everyone in the space is experiencing a drop-off in views from 2025.”
I wish Faux was one of them.

Man, I wish I was living in Trump's America.
I thought you were? (Physically at least)
Physically it is NOT Rump's America. IT IS OURS.
The country in Rump's head ... you can have it.

SO?
What matters is how much did Rump profit from it.

Funny how NOTHING is ever said about the kid they killed.
I hereby declare July 13th a holiday.
Thomas Crooks Memorial Day.
I would like to start a Thomas Crooks Memorial Legal Defense Fund. For the legal defense of anyone who removes Rump from office, should it be ruled illegal.

Idiot in chief want the navy to go back to using steam catapults to launch aircraft off of carriers and scrap the more modern and better design.
Someone should look into the producers of the old system and how much they contributed to the Rump campaign.

Another not so stunning bit of hypocrisy.
The irony is strong in this one.

I doubt she is the first person with such a personality to be the intern / aide sphere.
Pam Blondie, Karoline Leave it, Kristi No em, Carrie Prejean Boller.
I'm sure there are more I haven't seen on the news.

I don't understand why tariffs need to be lifted on beef to lower the price, I thought the exporter paid for it.
It never mattered who 'paid' the tariff.
Every penny was passed on to the end purchaser/consumer.
An actual businessman would know that.

Trump Admin apparently gave Canada a swerve and Canada walked out of trade talks. When you piss off Canada and they walk out, probably means you are being insanely stupid, irrational, incompetent.
article said:
Carney suspended trade talks with the United States on Friday after accusing the U.S. administration of introducing measures that included restrictions on Canada's ability to do deals with other countries, and he promised retaliatory tariffs in response to new U.S. ones that took effect on Saturday.
Now the small print, Carney walking away from this likely was because these latest tariffs impact a smaller portion of Canada trade to the US, around 2%.

Trump has since done his patented, 'How dare you react to what I've done illegally' maneuver and is promising more tariffs in January. The Conservatives in Canada are trying to win some points from Carney putting the Canadian economy at risk, but around 70 to 80% Of Canadians support Carney walking out. So Poilievre is stuck looking for something else to make himself look relevant.

At this point of things, it is becoming hard to tell what BS the Trump admin is pushing out is to distract from what. Iran, Epstein files, $40 trillion in debt (Trump was in charge for 25% of it), stubborn nuisance inflation, almost complete lack of any legislative wins, etc...

Polling could be off, the GOP might hold onto the Senate, but right now the polling is broadly indicating that people aren't happy. The polling for the Senate lines up with Trump's approval rating, which is getting close to as cratered as it seems to get. And the GOP has so little to show for their leadership over the last 18 months. Beneath the surface, the Heritage Foundation is having a ball dismantling the regulatory portion of the Executive Branch, but not easy to lead with that.

Trump effectively destroyed the finances of the Kennedy Center.

article said:
The records - internal budgets, management forecasts, board minutes and financial presentations - provide the first comprehensive accounting of the center's financial deterioration in the year and a half since Trump replaced dozens of board members with allies and installed himself as chairman. Even after slashing expenses, center officials projected earned revenue this fiscal year to miss its budget target by 70 percent and contributed revenue to fall 25 percent short. The revenue miss was projected to leave the center with a $23 million deficit.

"The center took a huge hit when the takeover happened," and then appeared to stabilize, according to an official familiar with the center's financial situation. But after the name change, "it was just an absolute fiscal cliff. Donors disappeared, ticket sales disappeared, artists disappeared - like it was doomsday."
All Trump had to do was nothing, and it would have been fine. It looks like it might have even survived the initial board takeover, as long as it was business as usual. But then the renaming of the shrine to a Assassinated President to include Trump's name on it was a point of no return. This is another one of those Trump has "some ideas" and it just goes to heck.

Art of the deal, baby!

Excreting bodliy wastes could get pricier. You might want to hold it until this latest tariff war ends.

The US accounts for more than 20% of global tissue consumption despite having only 4% of the world's population. The average American uses 141 rolls of toilet paper per year, making them No 1 for No 2s globally, just ahead of Germans, each using an average of 134 rolls annually.
Goes to show that Americans must really be full of shit.

article said:
The US imported $328m worth of toilet paper from Canada in 2024, according to the World Bank, making it by far the largest exporter of the product to the US. Retailers including Costco source much of their paper products from the country.

To bring the imported beef thing back up...

I did the math on this and 300,000 tons would provide enough to last approximately 8 days going by American consumption rates. And that's assuming a 100% consumption rate.

I would ask how Trumpets aren't outraged by this, but they haven't been outraged by anything he's done, so defending American cattle growers and every business and person down the chain is less than peanuts.. It's going to do nothing to help lower prices and we don't know where it's coming from.

Oh well, just another day in the Idiot Kingdom.

23% of mushrooms come from Canada.
They were paying a small tariff before.
I was told years ago that you should buy Canadian mushrooms because US mushrooms growers' use nasty chemicals.
Does tRump even eat mushrooms?
