WTF is this a real YOGA practice:eek:

Facebook says sickening child abuse video is 'baby YOGA' - and STILL refuses to remove shocking footage
WARNING: Contains upsetting images. The social network maintains that the horrific film does not violate its rules, despite child protection charities saying it is among the sickest video they have ever seen
 
I don't even know where to begin in condemning this. This is one of those times when I feel like I could overlook this woman getting bludgeoned in the fucking street. Of course the baby eventually became quiet - it's in shock! How fucking ignorant and callous do you have to be to do something like this?

Some new age idiots believe that handling infants violently hastens development. Even if that were true, who but a fucking crazy imbecile would risk damaging a newborn's brain and nervous system just to have them develop more quickly.

I imagine having the living shit scared out of you would hasten brain development, but I don't think anyone would like the adult who grows up with this kind of development.

Some kids survive being shaken as babies, so some kids who have been through this might be just fine. But I suspect there is much more to this story that the people who are making money off of it and are attached to their ideology of magic would not like made public. Just as any promoter of fraud will show you only the good side, any kids damaged by this would not be paraded around as examples of its benefits, and any indication of damage would be downplayed.

It appears that the latest wave of this practice was started and is currently taught and practiced by a Russian woman named Lena Fokina.

Any practice which risks brain damage or death has to be stopped, no matter the potential advantages. My point is that whether or not physical damage is inflicted, there will be emotional and psychological damage.

With the forces being applied to this child there is no doubt physical harm is being done. Crying or no is not a criteria one should use in judging bad adult to child behavior. Be concerned if you'd entertain doing this to anyone of any age.

IOW why can't we just now refer to the video name and not put others in position of witnessing this obscene behavior?

This is just a slightly more extreme variant of the cult of "parenting" that most American parents engage in now.

This cult views "parenting" as a full time constant job where the adult most supervise, intervene, and control every aspect of a child's life in order to speed and perfect development or protect it from imagine boogey men.
Its the cult responsible for kids being coerced into non-stop structure activities all day, and responsible for child-harming laws that prevent a 10 year old and and 8 year old from walking down the street to the park without an adult there to smother them. IT is the cult that makes it at least "neglectful" if not illegal to simply allow your kids to develop naturally without constant "parenting" they way all almost all kids prior to 20 years ago grew up.
