6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.


Now my question to theists is, why does not naturally give all humans wisdom when they are born? Why does God not value wisdom?

Because it would all fall out of their little brains, obviously. And if God made their brains big enough to hold it all, then giving birth would really hurt. Give God a break, man, he can't do everything!

Because he's a jealous god, as he said earlier in his book. (Deu 6:15) He has never wanted man to have knowledge and has always kept it from him, lest they be his equal. He forbade them to eat from the tree of knowledge (Gen 2), He struck the builders of the tower of Babel lest they reach him in heaven:

But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

Now my question to theists is, why does not naturally give all humans wisdom when they are born? Why does God not value wisdom?

Because wisdom leads people to question the pronouncements of the priests, which must never happen. God knew that priests are always right when he created mankind, so he created man without wisdom.

So wait .. God came to Solomon and offered to grant him a wish, but if Solomon had asked for anything that most people ask for with wishes such as a long life or riches or the like, then God would have told him to go and fuck off because he's not getting his wish?

I think this is a consequence of sticking a bunch of different kinds of stories together and pretending they're all about the same character.

The kind of god that rewards clever or virtuous people with some kind of power or magical doohickey isn't the same character as the kind of god who creates the universe exnihilo.
