Today on "Wow, they truly have lost their minds!" we bring you to a poll that came out over the weekend.

article said:
Seven in 10 Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters say Trump could win in November 2016 if he is nominated, and that's the most who say so of any candidate. By comparison, 6 in 10 say the same for retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who, like Trump, has tapped into the powerful wave of antiestablishment anger defining the early phases of the 2016 contest.
Yes, nearly 75% of those polled think that Donald Trump can win enough women and Hispanic voters to take the 2016 election. The guy who mocked a Fox News moderator's menstruation, will win enough women to take the White House.

The poll gets a little wonkier.
article said:
Their negatives are even more pronounced among the broader electorate. The AP-GfK poll found Trump is viewed unfavorably by 57 percent of those surveyed, the highest negatives of any Republican candidate.
So even Republicans who don't have a favorable view of Trump, think he is electable.

Granted, a Republican has only won the plurality vote once since 1988, so maybe they forget what being electable means for a Presidential election.

And now for the humor part of the OP.
article said:
"If he weren't a Bush, I wouldn't even know his name," said Republican Leslie Millican, a 34-year-old housewife from Magnolia, Arkansas. "I like the other Bushes. Something about (Jeb Bush) — he ain't grown on me yet."
Yup, W was a loveable one, but that Jeb Bush... something just off about him.

I so want Trump to win the GOP nomination. Sure, there's a risk that this would result in that psycho freak being in charge of a large army right next door to me and that's a pretty scary thought, but that risk is neglible enough not to concern myself over. I just want to watch Hillary Clinton stand on a stage beside him and be forced to give serious answers to whatever the fuck crazy shit comes out of his mouth. That would be a show worth watching.

Can we have Sarah as VP?

The only reason to hope Trump gets the nomination is to destroy this idiotic Tea Bagger movement. In '08 they thought they lost because McCain wasn't conservative enough. In '12, they felt sold out because of Romney. Now they are really pushing for this true outsider who speaks the truth and isn't afraid to make fun of women because they have menstruate.

He could take the entire hyper-partisan, Limbaugh teat sucking wing of the party down with him (presuming gerrymandering disappears something between now and the Federal election *sigh*).

We gotta be careful that rigor-mortis does not set in on the entire nation. I am amazed that this arrogant red faced comb over narcissis bastard Trump rings anybody's bells at all. He plays to the basest of human fears and is a genuine political hazard. I will thank Tom Sawyer to whitewash his own fence and please quit coaching us to install Trump at the head of the Republican party. In a land where a slip of the tongue can lose an election and destroy a political career...(Howard Dean for example), we do not need an abundance of reliably abrasive negativists (like Trump, and McConnel and Ryan) ready to step in and take control. No matter how laughable somebody like Trump is,(he is similar in terms of laughability to Hitler), he should not be allowed to head any ticket for any office including dog catcher.

No, in 2016 they lost because they got taken in by a fake right winger who only pretended to support their issues for the sake of self-promotion and who had an incredible amount of personal baggage which derailed his campaign. They still haven't managed to nominate a real conservative who'll represent their values and get the silent majority of Americans who secretly agree with them but are too ashamed to admit it because they're worried about recriminations from the liberal elites who control the media out to the polls.

I'm not sure what excuse they'll come up with after 2020.

Ya, it's a concern, of course, but I'm also concerned about getting eaten by a shark when I go to the local swimming pool. That's a bit more of a realistic worry than a Trump presidency and yet I don't let it stop me from going swimming.

I think what arkirk is referring to is that Trump simply winning the nomination would be very bad for the nation. Much like how nominating Palin for the VP slot in '08 helped to lead the US to this point, where there are millions of incredibly deluded morons that think Trump "gets it" when it comes to nuking the Middle East.

Oh ya, I understand how bad it would be for your nation. My point was how funny it would be for people who are not in your nation.

I thought like you think about Trump about Richard Nixon... You need to take a longer view of this matter. We do not need Trump at the head of any ticket thank you. My point is we don't actually know how fucked up this country is and how likely it is that a true loose cannon can attain the office of the President. After Nixon lost the Calif. Governors's race he declared, "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore." So years later, he was president and caused more casualties in Vietnam than Johnson did.

It's all fun and games until someone crashes the global economy... again.

Except for the GOP one, because that would be funny.

Hillary Clinton is going to be your next President and you don't need to have any worries (hopes?) about someone else getting in there instead. The only question is how dull or interesting the campaign will be. Since the outcome isn't in any doubt, the only thing that can add much interest is how much batshit crazy goes into it and Trump adds the most value there.

Given how full of yourselves all you Americans are, I'd think that you'd want the rest of the world to actually give a shit about what's happening in your election. If you have one of the anonymous also-rans who are campaigning against Trump on the ticket, nobody's going to care.

Canada actually did OK through that and we bought a few of your banks, so we can capitalize them and buy a few more.

The people who were not in our nation who definitely didn't find Nixon funny at all were Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians, etc. etc. You're only thinking that way because you don't realize your economy is on the way to the toilet when we stop humoring your tar sands operations. You really have nothing to brag about to Americans.

No, we're fine. Have no concern about us.

While those people didn't find a President Nixon funny, there's no similar concern about a President Trump because there will never be such a thing. A Candidate Trump, on the other hand, is hilarious.

Not wanting to laugh at Candidate Trump because of a concern about President Trump is like not laughing at the Three Stooges because of the very real harm that can be done by poking someone in the eyes.

You're not going to have a President Trump, so there's no damage that will be done by such a person.

You are speaking in an area where neither of us can be that cocksure. This man (Trump) is saying terribly racist things and many people in our country fervently agree with Trump. FYI Duck Dynasty is also popular in a wide swath of this country. Repetition is the route to victory...Nixon has a secret plan for ending the Vietnam war. Over and over...his secret was escalation. It didn't work. Trump has enough money to wear permanent ruts in the psyches of a lot of Americans if he gets nominated. Trump is not stupid. He is dangerous.

I agree he's not stupid. He's not really dangerous, though. At least not in the way that having someone like that as president of your country would be dangerous. This is because he's not going to be president of your country.

If you feel like having irrational worries, try being overly concerned about the threat of landsharks. You're in more danger of being eaten by a landshark than you are of having Trump as a president.

People who control huge amounts of money and run around spouting racism are dangerous. You really DON'T KNOW WHAT HE CAN DO. His money will be at work in the upcoming election regardless of who gets nominated. He will be dangerous regardless of whether or not he gets nominated. All this exercise (his candidacy) has done so far is take the lid of our ignorance of his attitudes off his privacy. A lot of people like him...or want to be like him.

That would be the Abbott and Costello of politics (with far less wit).

Ya, and it's good that all that shit is being exposed to the light instead of being hidden. That's the best way to get rid of it.

Trump isn't a man who gives a shit about racism, he's just using it for his own goals and his own goals will fail. He's not a legitimate concern. Worry about the land sharks - they're the real threat.

Trump has every right to run for president, and every right to spend his money doing it.

Don't blame Trump.

Blame the widespread ignorance in people that see Trump as a solution to anything.
